New Orleans Saints, 4:25 ET @ Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans, LA Chiefs favored by 3 1/2 Pick: New Orleans (WIN) Analysis: This is no doubt the marquee matchup of the day with everyone anticipating how QB Drew Brees will play coming back for his 1st start off the injured list. I feel his Saints' teammates will be motivated about his return which also means QB now slot back & speedster out of B.Y.U. Taysom Hill will be utilized more effectively in other capacities. This game is a CLASSIC chess match between HC's with KC's Andy Reid up against NO's Sean Payton. My bottom line says when Brees is back in the lineup, the emergence of talented RB Alvin Kamara makes him that much better. Yes, the Chiefs have arguably the best QB-RB tandem of Pat Mahomes & Clyde Edwards-Hilaire to counter it. However, the Mardi Gras Boys still average about 29 PPG (with some games without Brees) @ home on the season. I feel the 3rd-ranked New Orleans defense can keep this game close enough to give Brees the opportunity for a "W" up against a mediocre Chiefs' "D". Let's go to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to play the NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (buying to + 4 1/2) as my 9* NFL Possible Super Bowl Preview Play! New England Patriots Vs. Miami Dolphins, 1 ET @ Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, FL Dolphins favored by 2 1/2 Pick: New England (LOSS) Analysis: Things are a bit chaotic this weekend with the plays feed down on the VTD website. Nevertheless, I have 2 quick selections before the deadline in the NFL. My first pick pulls the lever down on the Patriots. I don't see a Bill Belichick coached team going out with a lopsided loss when dwindling playoff hopes still alive. It's super-hard to ignore Belichick's 21-7 SU record versus rookie QB's. There's a lot of things to take into account with this matchup. Miami rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa has looked decent in his first few games but also has struggled to find open receivers on a consistent basis. Belichick will certain take into account the game film of the Denver "D" & how the schemes of HC Vic Fangio frustrated Tagovailoa throughout in a 20-13 Dolphins' loss just a month ago. My bottom line points @ the visitor as if New England can keep their defense intact, they have more than an excellent chance to stop the Miami offense. This is especially true since they'll be missing key players like TE Mike Gesicki along with WR's DeVante Parker, Preston Williams & Jakeem Grant. This game will be won in the trenches which ALSO means the clock will wind down pretty fast. We'll bank on NE QB Cam Newton to put enough points on the board to make this a FG game in the end.
