I'm expecting more timely hitting from the 2,3 & 4 hole with Peralta, Goldschmidt & Lamb providing. Lamb has been especially clutch & has now run his RBI total to 62 with still a chunk full of games left before the halfway point. Jeremy Hellickson takes to the mound for Philadelphia who is winless in his last 3 starts. My bottom line zeroes in on Hellickson's perfect 0-3 record versus this Arizona 9. The Diamonbacks are throwing Randall Delgado whose pitched very well of late but hasn't been getting run support. Don't expect that here from Arizona whose tattooed RHP to the tune of .271 this season. I like this team to hold serve & grab 1 of the 2 NL Wild Card spots if they can stay healthy for the long haul. The former bullpen man Delgado is today's X-Factor with a brilliant 2.25 ERA in day games this year. The dagger for us has to be the bullpen edge where the boys from the desert hold a 3.33 to 4.97 edge. Saturday, June 24, 2017 Colorado Rockies vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB) - 10:10 PM EDT Premium Pick Pick: Money Line: -247 Los Angeles Dodgers Pick Title: 9 Star NL West Owners' Play (WIN) If anyone's has seen Clayton Kershaw's past performance against the Rockies then they know how dominant he's become. However, you'll see that this pick goes much deeper than that. For starters, this LA team is in a zone right now as is evident by their 30-10 dominating home record in Chavez Ravine. Their hitting has been timely & their defense has upped it more than a notch. Besides their big advantage in the bullpen over Colorado, let's now examine tonight's pitching matchup. LHP Kershaw takes to the mound having now won 41 of his last 51 when taking on his own division. But let's get much more personal. When it comes to playing the Rockies, Kershaw is 23-5 his last 28 overall but currently 9-1 his last 10. On his home mound, he's turned it up quite a bit going a lights-out 14-2 versus them his last 16 starts. Let's not loose sight that even though Colorado is the #3 MLB team on the depth charts, they are trending down while LA is on the rise. Pay no attention to overall stats with this one. My bottom line points out that the "Men From Coors" are a no-show 19-42 over the long haul in Los Angeles where the winds don't necessarily blow out. The dagger for us here has to be opposing ace Tyler Chatwood of the Purple & Black. He's been a literal no-show when taking on Dodger Blue winning just 1 of his past 7 starts. Aiding our cause, let's look @ him a little deeper in the recent stats. In 9 games this season @ night, Chatwood's team has lost 6 of 9. It's awful difficult to win when his ERA balloons to a hefty 4.98 under the lights. My system has been working true to form so we'll start another streak starting right here. Friday, June 23, 2017 Minnesota Twins vs. Cleveland Indians (MLB) - 7:10 PM EDT Premium Pick Pick: Money Line: -165 Cleveland Indians Pick Title: Mike's 9 Star Friday Firestarter Loss Click Here to View Pick Analysis It's no secret that Twinkies LHP Aldaberto Mejia is struggling right now with a ballooning 8.78 ERA over his last 3 starts. Minnesota has won just 3 of 9 when Mejia starts. Even though the Twins hold the 2nd best away record in the league @ 20-9, I'm expecting a big cool-off dead ahead since the numbers support that record as non-legit. The Indians are starting to heat up winning 3 of 4 in difficult Camden Yards this week. My bottom line points out that Cleveland is a super 38-15 in weekend series' starts. Their bullpen holds a large edge with a 2.56 ERA compared to Minny's 5.20. Enter Trevor Bauer into the picture. Bauer comes back in a big way after a quality start winning 7 in a row coming into tonight. He plays an opponent that has only won their last 3 of 17 games @ this venue.The dagger for us has to Bauer looking vastly improved & has also won his last 4 starts versus the Twinkies. Let's go to Progressive Field in Ohio to play the CLEVELAND INDIANS as my 9 Star Friday Firestarter! Thursday, June 22, 2017 New York Mets vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB) - 10:10 PM EDT Premium Pick Pick: Money Line: -192 Los Angeles Dodgers Pick Title: 9 Star MLB Broom Pusher Play (WIN) Is it hard to sweep a 4-game series? Yes. Is it tough to come back in Game 4 after out-scoring our opponent 30-8 in the first 3? Yes again. But the true questions are these -- Are the Dodgers comfortable taking back 1st place & are they motivated to go on a roll? Those are 2 strong affirmatives that have tabulated into a 12-1 record their last 13 which will be a hard train to stop. Los Angeles is not only 28-10 @ Chavez Ravine but also have 2 steamrollers on a super run with SS Corey Seager (.294, 12 HR's, 38 RBI's) & Yasiel Puig (13 HR's, 40 RBI's). Hitting coaches Turner Ward & Tim Hyers have these 2 thriving as well as their 21-year-old rookie & left-hand hitter Cody Belinger. They take the Metropolitans who've now lost 5 straight to "Dem' Bums". Matz takes to the hill for New York who has struggled mightily versus winning teams dropping 4 of his last 5 in that role. Matz is just 3-7 his last 10 starts & the Mets overall have dropped 21 of 28 to winning teams. My bottom line says losing is just as contagious as winning. These 2 teams are clearly going in opposite directions & I look for that trend to continue with LA (my early-season) being my NL representative in the 2017 World Series in October. If Ryu or other LHP's see action, that's going to play in the Dodgers' hands even more. The Mets only hit southpaws @ a very low .231 clip. Remember, LA gets hot right around the pre-All Star Game time ( July 10th thru the 13th this year) every season.
