Saturday, September 28, 2019 Indiana vs. Michigan State (NCAAF) - 3:31 PM EDT Premium Pick Pick: Point Spread: -14/-110 Michigan State Rating: 8* Mike's CFB Public Missed Perception Play (LOSS) O'h yeah, the mushes & even some cappers are saying Indiana QB Peyton Ramsey is looking pretty good! The problem is they forgot to tell you that their major eye test was watching him versus a Connecticut team that ranks close to 120th out of 130! Don't be fooled! HC Mark Dantonio MSU Spartans are loaded! They're NOW playing Big Ten football. Penn State ALSO had some close calls. What happened when they played Maryland in their league opener? Try a 59-0 white-washing of the Terrapins! When the dust clears @ Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, expect the Spartans to have enough firepower on the scoreboard to having lay the points looking excellent. Let's go the natural turf of that field to lay the number (buying to -13 1/2) & grab the MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS with that excellent "D" under Mike Tressel as my CFB Public Missed Perception Play! Iowa State vs. Baylor (NCAAF) - 3:30 PM EDT Premium Pick Pick: Money Line: -142 Iowa State Rating: 8* Mike's CFB Over-Rated Homer Play (LOSS) You got to give some kudos to HC Matt Rhule (formerly @ Temple) & his Baylor Bears that jetted out to a 3-0 SU start entering in. However, wins over Stephen Austin, Texas-San Antonio & Rice (a nailbiter) doesn't qualify them as a Power 5 powerhouse. The last 2 meetings in this series has revealed a masterful job done by Iowa State 's DC Jon Heacock. He employs a swarming 3-4 defensive scheme that's made moving the chains difficult in posting 2 double-digit wins & just 13.5 PPG. Let's not under-sell this Cyclones squad (2-1 SU) after losing the Cy-Hawk Trophy in an 18-17 defeat a few weeks back. They controlled the stats for most of the game in out-gaining the Hawkeyes 428 to 313. I'm expecting a stellar game from Iowa State sophomore QB Brock Purdy in posting another "W" here. Baylor must still prove they're legit. Let's travel to McLane Stadium in Waco, TX to play the IOWA STATE CYCLONES as my CFB Over-Rated Homer Play! Kansas State vs. Oklahoma State (NCAAF) - 7:00 PM EDT Premium Pick Pick: Money Line: -190 Oklahoma State Rating: 8* Mike's 8* Headliner Moneyliner Play Of The Week (WIN) Don't get me wrong, I love the job HC Chris Klieman has done (3-0) since coming over from North Dakota State (he was 69-6 there). Yes, his teams have now won 24 in a row on the road after shocking Mississippi State 31-24 just 2 weeks ago. However, that'll be a TALL TASK for them to continue that streak up against an Oklahoma State offense that's been around or over the 500 total yards of offense in all 4 games (3-1 SU). The Cowboys come into this one 4-0 ATS which means they have been under-valued by the oddsmakers. On the flip side, everyone & their grandmothers are over-eager to put heavy money on KSU ATS & on the ML. In the numbers reveal to us that OSU has won their last 6 in a row ATS versus winning teams & are a perfect 7-0 versus the number on field turf. Let's show HC Mike Gundy a little love as we go to Boone Pickens Stadium to play the OKLAHOMA STATE COWBOYS as my 8* Headliner Moneyliner Play Of The Week! NOTES: MSU has been a real thorn in our side with 2 losses for us. Even though they got the SU "W", they didn't get the cover. They obviously saw their game with 5-0 SU Ohio State immediately on deck. We saw a winning week turn into a losing one when Iowa State got edged by 2, 23-21 @ the wire by a game-winning FG by John Mayers (their 1st made FG of the season). For this weekend, let's breeze over the injury report for some key QB's that could affect the number. Arizona's Khalil Tate is hampered by a hamstring injury & remains questionable. California's Chase Garbers is out indefinitely with a shoulder injury. Georgia Tech 1st & 2nd string QB's James Graham & Lucas Johnson are both questionable. It's the same for Louisville as both Jawon Pass & Malik Cunningham remain questionable versus BC. Purdue's Elijah Sindelar is out indefinitely with a fractured collarbone. Stanford's K.J. Costello is questionable with a thumb injury. Rapping it up, U.C.L.A.'s Dorian Thompson-Robinson is questionable with an ankle injury. Stay tuned as Mike's looking for a sweep during sweep weekend this first weekend of October. Mike Handzelek's 2019 Week 5 CFB Record: 1-2 for 33% Mike Handzelek's 2019-20 CFB Overall Record: 9-8 for a mediocre 53%
