Tuesday, June 13, 2017 Philadelphia Phillies vs. Boston Red Sox (MLB) - 7:10 PM EDT Premium Pick Pick: Money Line: -237 Boston Red Sox Pick Title: 9 Star Line Mover (WIN) The Boston Red Sox played their off game of this series yesterday & still won. expect the bats to heat up in Bean Town against Philly. Philadelphia has proven time and time again they are a lame duck versus the AL on the road. They've gone 13-39 on the international road as well as a no-show 3-13 versus southpaws in that category. The Phillies' woes stretch far beyond that losing 27 of their last 36 roadies while turning in a mark of 29-64 versus winning teams. The Red Sox scouting report will reveal Philly's lack of talent as witnessed not only by going 0-for-6 their last 6 inter-leaguers but showing very quiet bats versus LHP this season hitting slightly above the Mendoza @ .230. My bottom line says Boston will be focused since New York has already turned in a quite strong record versus the NL. Catching the Yankees means to increase their success versus AL East record but also beat the NL on a consistent basis. Philadelphia has also struggled mightily when visiting the Tea Men going 3-13 the last 16. I also feel this is a golden opportunity for LHP David Price to lower his ERA (over 5) & prove he still has something to show. The daggers for us has to be Boston's excellent batting average versus RHP (.264) as well as winning their last 7 of 8 @ home versus righties. Remember, the weather is starting to get consistently humid & we're still gauging which are our play on & against teams (unlike the 1st 2 months). Saturday, June 10, 2017 Baltimore Orioles vs. New York Yankees (MLB) - 7:15 PM EDT Premium Pick Pick: Money Line: -219 New York Yankees Pick Title: Belmont Stakes With Exotics & BONUS MLB (WIN) & (WIN) The New York Yankees are salivating right now! For Game 2 of this series, it is highly likely that they'll face the Birds without the bats of Machado & Castillo AND the arms of O'Day & Britton. That's a lot of talent missing from their divisional rival. What really stands out is how this is tabulating in our favor. Baltimore enters this game now 1-11 on the road their last 12 PLUS a perfect 0-8 against RHP when traveling. Enter pinstripe starter Luis Severino. Severino is on the rise & comes into this fracas winning 5 straight versus winning clubs. The O's mastery of NY in the Bronx has now tipped toward the Yankees who have won 17 of the last 25 meetings there. New York has hit RHP very well coming into this with a .272 batting average contrasted to the Orioles' .247 in that category. My bottom line says with Baltimore already down 2 key bullpen aces, the Yankees should hold even a stronger edge than the + 1-run ERA advantage shows. It's time to dissect & let the cream rise to the top for the "Big Sandy" AKA The Belmont Stakes. Forget unfortunately getting crushed at the gate for the Kentucky Derby & Blue Grass Stakes, I believe TAPWRIT won't have those same problems here. Remember, his sire is Tapit who is the same sire that has been responsible for 2 of the last 3 Belmont winners with Creator & Tonalist. With Jose Ortiz aboard, he'll know when to kick in Tapwrit's closing capabilities but now from a truer ride from the gate. Look for IRISH WAR CRY to be right there. Rajiv Maragh will be aboard the ONLY HORSE in the Belmont that has two 100-plus Beyer speed figures. Look for him to get closer to the rail from the start & not be stuck wide like in the Derby. This horse is a fresh stalker which is what you look for more than the closer angle. SENIOR INVESTMENT should still have something left after his 3rd place finish in the Preakness & his Lexington Stakes victory 8 weeks ago. Trainer Ken McPeek is the same trainer responsible for Sarava who cashed the biggest Belmont longshot (70-1) back in 2002. J BOYS ECHO rounds out a nice Superfecta with Robby Albarado back in gear. This horse has closing capabilities & did outlast Cloud Computing (Preakness winner) in the Gotham @ Aqueduct posting a 102 Beyer speed figure. I'm not expecting a repeat of that horrible start @ the Derby with Albarado keeping him in position early. However, that trend is now trending down. 3B Manny Machado (a Yankees' killer) may be out again or be forced to play with a wrist injury. 1B Chris Davis actually filled in out of position for him on the hot corner. I like the pinstripes motivation off getting embarrassed the last time out 10-4 @ Camden Yards. Tonight, the O's #1 starter in the rotation -- Dylan Bundy gets the nod to try to silence the Yankees' hot bats. Yes, Bundy is 2-1 lifetime versus New York. However, that lone loss happened in the Bronx. There's many other things that remain eye-popping here. There's the can't ignore Baltimore record on the road that currently stands @ 1-10 over the past 11. My bottom line is kind of 2-fold. The first one has to be Yankees' RHP Jordan Montgomery. I saw him pitch live coming up in the minors @ Scranton-Wilkes-Barre and also @ Trenton. This kids' brilliant 1.06 ERA over his last 3 has opened eyes. Why the early success? Montgomery has excellent mechanics. He's got unreal movement on his fast ball & varies locations well with his off-speed pitches. abig plus has to be the New York bats being alive & well. The dagger for us finds that under further examination, the Yanks have been a force to be reckoned with over the last 29 games @ home versus RHP. The Bronx Bombers have tattooed them to the tune of 21-8! Yes, the Joe Girardi-Bucky Showalter chess match begins another 3-game stint. Once the 3rd stage begins in the 7th, I look for the Yankees to pull away with the better bullpen. The O's struggled in Boston & should struggle again here. Take a load off & enjoy how difficult it is to beat the NY bats in their home venue. Let's go to Yankee Stadium to play the NEW YORK YANKEES as my 9 Star AL East Battle Royale Survivor! Hard work & strategies paid off BIG for us in the Belmont Stakes where we won a $25 win bet on Tapwrit along with a $20 boxed play on Tapwrit & Irish War Cry. When I heard Tapwrit drew near the rail @ 2, I knew Ortiz would settle along the rail before tracking front-runners loosely. While briefly getting angled to the outside later, Ortiz brilliant stick work from side to side put him in position to meet up and bump Irish War Cry before digging in with something left in the end. I knew Tapwrit had what it takes here. He had an excellent trainer in Todd Pletcher who is a 7-time trainer of the year who also won the Kentucky Derby this year with Always Dreaming. Tapwrit had the right running style, disposition & pedigree to outlast the competition. Tapit, his father, provided the genes for this grueling race that marked the 3rd time in 4 years with Tonalist (2014), Creator (2016) getting Belmont wins before Tapwrit. How rare is this? It's been close to 150 years since Lexington (1868-71) equaled this feat with sons General Duke in 68', two year later with Kingfisher in 70' & immediately followed by Harry Bassett in 1871.
