Detroit goes for the series win on Wednesday when they finish up a three game set with Oakland. The ace of the Tigers staff Justin Verlander takes the mound and brings an 8-3 record with a 3.40 ERA to the hill. Verlander has 124 strikeouts to just 34 walks on the season. He hasn't seen the A's since 2007 and is 4-2 with a 3.12 ERA all time against them. Verlander has done his best against Orlando Cabrera (6-26), Mark Ellis (4-17), Adam Kennedy (2-9), Jack Cust (2-8) and Bobby Crosby (0-8).
