Neither Illinois nor Wisconsin had to play a first round game so they both see their first Big Ten Tournament action in round two. Last time we saw Wisconsin in action it was against this same Illinois team and the Badgers took over in the second half and dealt the Illini a 15 point loss. The badgers have been among the ranked all season long and are currently 18th in the nation though they seem to stumble in games they should win as opposed to stepping up against tougher opponents. Wisconsin scores 67.9 points per game as they shoot 45.1 percent from the floor but they are 289th in offensive rebounding. Defensively Wisconsin keeps opponents to a third best in the nation 56.1 points per game as teams shoot 41.5 percent against them and they are 11t in defensive rebounding. Wisconsin is a veteran team who still have plenty to prove. Illinois lost five of their last six games this season to play their way out of the NCAA Tournament. The Illini finished fifth in the conference with a 10-8 record and while the Illini have some impressive wins under their belt against these same Badgers and Michigan State they have some tough losses as well. The Illini average 70.5 points per game and the shoot 44.9 percent from the field. Defensively Illinois allows 66.5 points per game as teams shoot just 39.9 percent from the floor. Illinois has shown that when they are focused and playing their game they can play with anyone. Wisconsin is 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 Big Ten games and just 1-5 against the spread in their last six games as a favorite in neutral site games. Illinois is 0-6 against the spread in their last six neutral site games but they are 5-1 against the spread as an underdog of seven to 12 1/2 points. The favorite is 4-1-1 against the spread in the last six meetings between these two. These two teams split the season series and just as the short break can hurt momentum, it can also help teams that are struggling. We think it helps the Illini here enough to get a cover. The Charlotte Bobcats aim to maintain their recent winning ways and further solidify their postseason hopes in tonight's clash with a Los Angeles Clippers team that'll be seeking to end a five-game slide when it pays a visit to Time Warner Cable Arena.
Charlotte has never reached the playoffs or had a winning season since entering the NBA in 2004-05, but a current stretch of four straight victories has put the club at 32-31 and into a tie with Toronto and Miami for sixth place in the Eastern Conference. Three of those wins have come at home, where the Bobcats have amassed an excellent 23-8 record this season.
The team's latest win occurred on the road, however, a 102-87 triumph over sagging Philadelphia on Wednesday. Charlotte built a comfortable 62-44 lead at intermission and was up by as much as 29 points in the second half.
Los Angeles, now 7-26 on the road this season and losers of eight straight as the visitor, received 16 points from Chris Kaman and 12 out of Steve Blake in Wednesday's setback. The Clippers haven't prevailed in an enemy arena since a 90-82 win over Chicago on February 2. TAKE CHARLOTTE MINUS HERE.

It's two surprise participants in the first Big East Tournament semi-final of the night as Georgetown faces Marquette.
Marquette makes it to the Big East semi Final by winning a thriller against Villanova in a game that will define the college career of Lazar Hayward and place him along with Dwayne Wade and others as some of the top players to ever wear the Marquette uniform. Hayward scored 20 points but it was his clutch play and seemingly always being in the right place at the right time that stifled the Cats. The four point win was actually a little more breathing room than what the Golden Eagles are accustomed to as they seem to involved in more tight games and overtime games than anyone. Marquette is 11-2 in their last 13 games and they did defeat Georgetown in their only meeting this year. The Golden eagles average 73.4 points per game as they shoot 45.6 percent from the field but they are 300th in offensive rebounding. Defensively teams shoot 44.4 percent from the field which is but Marquette gets away with it by pounding the defensive boards and they hold teams to just 63.7 points per game. This a very gritty team that can hang with anyone.
Georgetown got to this game by upsetting number one seed and conference champion Syracuse avenging two losses to the Orange during the season. The Hoyas never wavered down the stretch and win by seven. Georgetown had played the toughest schedule in the country and it has come in handy in tournament play. The Hoyas have averaged 73.5 points per game as they are 4th in the country in shooting percentage at 49.9percent from te floor. Defesnivley the Hoyas pound the boards as they are 24th in the country in defensive rebounding and they allow just 65.5 points a game. Georgetown obviously doesn't back down from anyone.
Marquette is 11-3-1 against the spread in their last 15 games against a team with a winning record and 3-1-1 against the spread following a straight up win. Georgetown is 4-0 against the spread in their last four neutral site games but 9-25-1 in their last 35 games following a cover.

The San Antonio Spurs will try to continue their mastery of the Minnesota Timberwolves when the two Western Conference inhabitants get together tonight at the Target Center.
San Antonio has won 10 straight and 15 of the past 16 meetings with the Timberwolves, who have lost five in a row as the host in this series. Minnesota's last win over the Spurs was a 103-101 overtime triumph back on January 3, 2007 in the Twin Cities.
The Spurs have won five of their last six games overall, including Wednesday's 97-87 triumph versus the New York Knicks in the Alamo City. Manu Ginobili scored a game-high 28 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out five assists to lead the way. Ginobili has scored in double figures 10 times and has posted 20-plus points on six different occasions in 11 games since the All-Star break, averaging 20.9 ppg in that period.
The Timberwolves have seen better days and are playing out the string this evening. They have lost seven straight and 13 of their last 14 games, and are coming off Wednesday's 110-102 loss versus the Denver Nuggets. Nuggets forward J.R. A pair of teams battling for playoff spots in the Eastern Conference square off tonight at Miami's AmericanAirlines Arena, where the surging Heat continue an important homestand by taking on the slumping Chicago Bulls.
Although only 1 1/2 games separate these clubs in the East standings, the Heat and Bulls have been going in opposite directions as of late. Miami posted its fourth win in its last five outings with Wednesday's 108-97 verdict over the Los Angeles Clippers, while Chicago's current losing streak reached a season- worst six games in last night's 111-82 defeat at Orlando.
The Bulls' slide has dropped them into ninth place in the conference race, with the Heat tied with Toronto and Charlotte for the final three postseason berths at the moment.
The Bulls have also lost in four straight visits to Miami, including a 95-87 decision on November 1. Chicago did get a measure of revenge with a 95-91 win over the Heat in the Windy City on February 6, in which Deng scored 25 points and Rose netted 24.
Miami has an opportunity to enhance its playoff chances with a six-game home stretch that began with Wednesday's victory over the Clippers. The Heat have won their last four tilts as the host, improving to 18-14 at AmericanAirlines Arena for the season. TAKE MIAMI MINUS HERE.

One slip at the controls and the Denver Nuggets will have some company atop the Northwest Division standings. They'll try to prevent that from happening tonight, when they resume a four-game road trip against the New Orleans Hornets in the Big Easy.
Denver has won four in row and sits just one game ahead of Utah in the division. The Jazz have also won four straight and will play Milwaukee Friday night at the Bradley Center.

He doesn't believe in rating the selections. They are all of merit. Doubling up or chasing can be counterproductive in the long run. Okay, some plays handicap out stronger than others, but without records over thousands of plays, it's hard to have relative values of plays....unless you are psychic.This is not saying that it cannot be helpful to increase your plays when going good (not one winning week) and decrease them when going bad. That is part of good money management. (SEE MONEY MANAGEMENT BELOW)

Poor money management is the reason 90-95% of all sport bettors lose.
A good rule of thumb is to bet 2% of your bankroll on each play until it goes up 50%. Then increase your plays 50%. Do the reverse if your bankroll goes down.
Try not to risk more than 20% of your bankroll at any one time and over this amount only if you are making 10 or more plays simultaneously.
We wouldn't risk more than 18% while making 5-6 plays at a time.
If you make 1-3 plays a day, risking 10% of your gross bankroll at any one time might be safe.
If you go broke it won't be because you didn't pick winners, it will most likely be due to poor money management.
