Age: 32

Years in Handicapping: I’ve been around sports gaming and the horse racing industry for all of my life. I began betting sports seriously back in ’96-97 while I was in college at Suffolk University. After seven years as a private handicapper, I decided to offer my selections and analysis in 2004 to the general public. I’ve worked ‘behind the scenes’ as a handicapper, researcher, and consultant to private clients as well as other handicappers. Matty B Sports is a one-man operation and I pride myself and my business on ethical and honest practices.

Achievements in Handicapping: In the 2003-2004 Station Casino’s NFL Football Challenge in Las Vegas, I won the last four week’s contest with a 15-5 ATS record and collected my share of the $10,000 prize. In 2004, Matty B Sports began to get documented at Sports-Watch in Las Vegas and finished #3 in college football. In ’05-06, I finished #2 in college football bowl games, #4 in college basketball, and #2 in March Madness. In 2007, I finished #1 in college football bowl games and #4 in March Madness. This past season, I finished #10 in the NFL with a 38-24 ATS record and #12 in college basketball with an 87-65 ATS record as documented by The Sports Monitor of Oklahoma City.

My Handicapping Style: I am unlike most of the handicappers out there. I rely less on statistical information, and focus more on ‘under the radar’ techniques that have a proven winning track record. I also put a lot of stock into my exclusive coaching spread patterns that I’ve logged over the years. The best thing about my handicapping style is the fact that others can’t utilize what I have because they are not mainstream and they are kept close to the vest by me.

Games Rating Guide: 3* Game of the Week, 4* Game of the Month, 5* Game of the Year. I’ve only had five 4* and 5* plays since 2004 which shows you how rare they are; those plays are 4-0-1 ATS.

My Best Handicapping Tip: Avoid public underdogs. When the points look too good to be true, they usually are and the favorite rolls to an easy win.

My Best Life Tip: Don’t sweat the small stuff. Keep things in perspective, and realize all isn’t as bad as it seems.
