NEW Big 12 Power Ratings / News and Notes
Tony George Feb 11, 2010
By Tony George

The Big 12 is shaping up to be Kansas, and basically everyone else folks. The Jayhawks have been tested on the road and survived a scare at Colorado, beat K State on the road in a big game, dominated Texas on Big Monday this past week, and manhandled their hated rival MIzzou. The depth of Kansas is an issue for any team who plays them, and Aldrige in the paint is a machine ...  read more

NBA Primer - Get off to a Good Start
Tony George Oct 26, 2009
Another NBA season is set to start, seems like the last season just got over! I love capping the NBA, year in and year out one of my strongest sports. If any season other than MLB is a marathon, it is the NBA. My low volume approach is one I have adopted over the years for good reason, Money Management. I find the best bet on the board daily, and wager it. All on a flat bet basis. If I do no ...  read more

October 23 Big 12 Power Ratings

Wow, what a BAD weekend for the Big 12 North powers Nebraska, who fell at home to Texas Tech, laying 11 points (Your Forum and podcast free play here last week), Kansas falling to hapless Colorado on the road, and Missouri getting smacked at Okie State, blowing it in the fourth qurater again, just like they did against Nebraska the previous week. Impressive was Kansas State d ...  read more

October Big 12 Power Ratings
Tony George Oct 16, 2009
By Tony George

There has been enough football under our belt in this conference to weigh out my power ratings. I use these as overlays against the spread. Much like many novice cappers do with the Sargin ratings in USA Today against the Las Vegas Line. It is not broken down by division but is an overall ranking based on offense, defense, special teams, turnover ratios, and a few other int ...  read more

NFL Camp Report: Kansas City Chiefs

The AFC West is clearly dominated by 1 team this year, the San Deigo Chargers are a clear cut favorite to win the division. The Big 12 North Preview

The balance has shifted in the North from the old days of Nebraska and then everyone else, to the rise of Kansas State in late 90's and then a myriad of teams rising and falling like Colorado. The power the past few years has centered on the border war between Missouri and Kansas, both of whom were consistent in the top 10 the past couple of years, with Mizzou having hug ...  read more

NFL Brass at height of Hipocrisy with Gambling

The NFL continues to show its 2 emotions, greed and more greed once again. Each year I write something that pertains to this subject. Let me preface by saying that baseball is my least favorite spectator sport as a fan of the game, straight up or with action on it. NFL Super Bowl proves parity remains present

By Christopher Costigan, Gambling911.com Publisher

The NFL Week 2 results are in and the bookies made out really big thanks to three of the most bet on teams losing. Actually, the three most bet on teams were pummeled this week.

#1: Bengals(Cincinnati) Point Spread

#2: Saints(NewOrleans) Point Spread

#3: Colts(Indianapolis) Point Spread

The Big 12 Report- Edition 1
Tony George Sep 11, 2007
Some interesting non-conference happenings in the Big 12 conference the past 2 weeks in college football open up our 2007 edition of the Big 12 reports for this season. My record of 64% ATS or better in this conference in each of the past 6 seasons will be tested this season, as the South and North have plenty of parity in them, and the South looks to be the best division of the two of them as ...  read more

Tony's Takes- Week 2 NCAA Football
Tony George Sep 9, 2007
Lets get right down to it. A wild and wacky week in College football with numerous surprises and disappointments and eyebrow raising "WTF?" games results had everyone scratching their heads somewhat! It looks like early on you simply lay the points with big named teams and watch them come in against the number with ease. I managed a 3-2 ATS record this week and had plenty of nervous moments a ...  read more

Hyped up NCAA teams and Rankings: I Told you so!
Tony George Sep 4, 2007
My weekly review of what went wrong and right in NCAA Football is a feature here. While I am never one to say I told you so, I simply must refer back to my August 21st article telling all who would take the time to read my article that the pre-season rankings bear little meaning in terms of pointspread expectations. I mentioned the huge number that USC was laying, who was clearly the #1 team i ...  read more

Beware of Week 1 NFL Lines
Tony George Sep 1, 2007
After a 12-4-1 ATS preseason effort for my clients, I have received numerous e-mails from guys with money in their pocket ready to UNLOAD in week 1 of the NFL. Oddsmakers and books are well documented on the record as saying week 1 is one of their biggest weekends of the season because of the hype and build-up. Sports bettors are hungry to get back into the mix, who passed on baseball (which is ...  read more

Hyped up rankings lead to busted bankrolls
Tony George Aug 21, 2007
Yes the NCAA Football polls have been released, and anything but ranking USC #1 in purely speculation by nameless and faceless writers who know as much about the game as my 8th grader in some cases. How important are the polls to head coaches in Division I? Not very, unless they are a BCS school in the running at mid-season, because 90% of division I coaches have their under studies vote the p ...  read more

Tease your Way to Profits in the NFL
Tony George Aug 18, 2007
Now that the king of all sports wagering is upon us, that being football, it is time to maximize profits and minimize losses for the smart player. Tony George releases his own Super Bowl Prop Bets
Tony George Aug 10, 2007
As I look at the Super Bowl odds for the teams in the NFL there are a few prop bets worth taking, which I have made some preseason wagers on, and I will tell you who they all are. My process for these prop bets, and I had the Colts last year at 3 to 1 early to win it and cashed a ticket, is one of elimination. That means I look at teams that have NO chance of winning the Super Bowl like Cleve ...  read more

Tony's Takes on the NFL Preseason
Tony George Aug 5, 2007
Do not let football fever set in too early folks. While numerous handicappers and scamdicappers will be throwing out plays and pick for sale like mad men, capturing the fever of football betting, I again use caution. Football is the KING of all sports wagering, I have a few takes about my theory for the preseason which has worked well over my past 16 years in the professional handicapping busi ...  read more

Falcons judgement clouded on Vick Issue
Tony George Jul 31, 2007
I guess trading away QB Matt Schaub was premature and ill advised at best for Atlanta. It is going to haunt them all season. Some of the motivation was new head coach Bobby Petrino counting on the versatile Mike Vick to make big plays and flourish in a new scheme, and the other was salary cap issues. Vick's numbers do not exceed now starter Joey Harrington in any glaring fashion other than th ...  read more

NBA ref scandal a Black-eye for Gaming Industry
Tony George Jul 24, 2007
The recent headlines for the NBA with referee Tim Donaghy must be a hard pill to swallow for NBA commissioner David Stern, who HATES the gambling industry. For the NBA it is an "integrity issue", much like baseball had with Pete Rose pertaining to gambling, and now with the on-going steroid issue. Wayne Gretzky's wife was recently involved or mentioned in a Hockey betting ring this past year a ...  read more

This has always intrigued me, irritated me, and lumped me into a scenario that I have tried to avoid my entire 15 year career in sports handicapping. The Power of the West in the NBA
Tony George Jun 13, 2007
While it is a no brainer 3 games into the NBA finals that the Spurs will win it all, it is simply a matter of it happening in 4 or 5 games at this point. This dominance brings to light a serious problem in the NBA. The Eastern Conference of the NBA is at a serious disadvantage in terms of the ability to compete, thus losing viewers for David Sterns NBA product. It makes for easy profits as a ha ...  read more

Moneyline Wagering - Less is more, Pay attention!

It is always a decision making point at this time of year for Sports Bettors to try moneyline wagering, for their sports junkie fix. Local Bookmakers are illegal, but busy thanks to US authorities

I am ranting again, obviously falling on deaf ears, as American Sports bettors and people offshore who take their betting action continue to be at risk by US authorities determined to continue to violate our civil liberties. NBA in Las Vegas unlikely, but Why?

After watching the NBA All Star activities and game this past weekend, where my highlight was Toni Braxton's skirt at the halftime show, it was apparent after looking over and over again at all the David Stern and Las Vegas Mayor's Goldman interviews, there is an impasse that will not be overcome when it comes to a franchise in Las Vegas for an NBA team. The NBA is at the height of hypocrisy agai ...  read more

Super Bowl First Impressions
