MLB 2023 Preview
Frank Jordan Mar 30, 2023
MLB 2023 Preview

Last season the AL East was won by the Yankees with a 99-63 record while Toronto at 92-70 and Tampa Bay 86-76 also made the playoffs with wildcard spots. Boston was last at 78-84 and Baltimore ended 83-79 in fourth place. Look for things to end about the same with Baltimore possibly jumping ahead of Tampa Bay as the young team is showing a ton of promise. With the Yankees re ...  read more

2022 Homerun Derby

1/8 Match up Kyle Schwarber is tops in the National League with 29 homeruns and second to Judge in the majors. Schwarber had five homeruns in April, six in May, got hot in June with a dozen and stayed hot with six already in July. Schwarber’s opponent is veteran homerun hitter Albert Pujols who is the active leader in homeruns in the MLB with 685 which is fifth all time. ...  read more

NBA Finals Preview
Frank Jordan Jun 1, 2022
This is an interesting series with the veteran Warriors against the youthful (for the most part) Celtics. During the regular season each team won at the other team’s place with the Celtics winning at Golden State in the last meeting 110-88 and the Warriors won in Boston in the first meeting of the year 111-107. Boston went 51-31 during the regular season with 23-18 road record. Golden State went 5 ...  read more

2nd half preview
Frank Jordan Jul 12, 2019
Baseball’s unofficial halfway point of the All-Star break has come and gone, and this is the time that teams separate themselves into contenders and pretenders. This year it is a little different as MLB now has a hard deadline of no trades after July 31st where in previous years it was a trade deadline of July 31st and in August a player had to clear wavers if he was to be moved to another team. M ...  read more

Homerun Derby prediction
Frank Jordan Jul 8, 2019
This homerun derby is a collection of young guys with the exception of hometown guy Carlos Santana who is the only player over 30. Vlad Guerrero Jr. has the fewest homeruns with just eight and also the fewest at bats with just 225, but does bring the youth and raw power like his father who is a previous winner of this event. Another rookie Pete Alonso comes in with the most homeruns at 30 with Jos ...  read more

Baseball’s second half
Frank Jordan Jul 20, 2018
In the American League it appears it was all but wrapped up with the Yankees, Red Sox, Indians, Astros and Mariners making the playoffs, however Oakland has made a push just 3.5 games back of Seattle for that second wildcard. That race out West should be an enjoyment to watch in the second half with more pressure as one gets in and one goes home. The other race to watch is the AL East to see if Bo ...  read more

ALL – Star Snub
Frank Jordan Jul 14, 2018
Blake Snell has had a great first half and despite being named as a replacement for the injured Corey Kluber he had good enough numbers to make it the first time around. Eight starters were named to the All-Star most with good enough stats to be named ahead of Snell. Louis Severino was a lock, and a chance to start with a league leading 14 wins against two losses, a 2.31 ERA, 144 strikeouts and 1. ...  read more

Down the Stretch they come in the NBA

Outlook of the East

There are a few scenarios that have changed the East for the playoff push in the final quarter of the regular season. Boston and Toronto stayed put with what they had at the trade deadline, Cleveland had a total shake up, Washington is holding course while Wall is on the mend, the Knicks are sinking without Porzingis, and the biggest move was made by Detroit landing Blake G ...  read more

NFL 2017 year in review
Frank Jordan Feb 16, 2018
Same old same old the Browns have the worst record in the league with an 0-16 mark, number one seeds met in the Super Bowl, and Tom Brady won an MVP award. Some things that are new…a quarterback caught a TD pass in the Super Bowl, the Eagles won the Super Bowl, and the Patriots lost it. With that loss, Brady is now 5-3 and the Patriots are 5-5. A surprising event or lack thereof, is that the Eagle ...  read more

Homerun Derby 2017
Frank Jordan Jul 10, 2017
This is quite the collection of homeruns hitters as there is a pair of Marlins, a pair of Yankees, a pair of AL Central third baseman, and a pair of sluggers from the powerful NL West. Giancarlo Stanton is not only the hometown star, but the defending champ and tied for third with 26 homeruns this season. Aaron Judge has been a beast this year leading the majors with 30 homeruns, which is already ...  read more

NFL Playoff Preview and Predictions 2017
Frank Jordan Jan 7, 2017
AFC

The AFC wildcard matchups are interesting as Oakland plays at Houston in the battle of teams with strong defenses and backup quarterbacks. The other matchup is another rematch from the regular season with Miami and Pittsburgh squaring off. Those games will go: Oakland winning in a close contest by three and Pittsburgh will be fired up and use the home field to their advantage to win b ...  read more

MLB Playoffs division series
Frank Jordan Oct 6, 2016
This MLB season has been a special one and the postseason is sure to delight. The wildcard games are over and the division series are about to kickoff. In the AL, Toronto walked off against Baltimore to set up a rematch of last year’s ALDS against Texas, but this time Texas has the home field. The other series pits Boston against Cleveland as the Red Sox face their former manager Terry Francona. N ...  read more

MLB Season with a Month to Go
Frank Jordan Sep 5, 2016
There are some races that are over such as the AL West where Texas has a 9.5 game lead, NL East where Washington has an 8.5 game lead and the NL Central where the Cubs have a 16.5 game lead. With that being said the AL East is a three team race, AL central isn’t quite locked up yet, the NL west still up for grabs, and the wildcards in both leagues have several teams fighting for the last two spots ...  read more

NFL Preview 2015
Frank Jordan Sep 10, 2015
Last year had a flurry of a finish in the Super Bowl coming down to the final minute. The 2015 season couldn’t come soon enough as there were so many issues in the offseason headlined by Tom Brady and deflate gate. In the end he got a four game suspension and it was overturned in court. So nothing came of it and now we have on the field games that count and we can focus on the games themselves to ...  read more

NBA Finals Preview
Frank Jordan Jun 3, 2015
This is a popular pick when the season and post season began as it is a matchup of number one seed from the West Golden State Warriors and the number two seed in the East Cleveland Cavalier. Each team had their toughest test and biggest competition from their second round series. Cleveland swept through Boston in the opening series and Atlanta in the Conference finals, but in the semifinals the Ca ...  read more
