The college football season is quickly approaching and I would like to share a few thoughts on the Pac-12.
I expect Oregon and Stanford to lead the North division.
The Oregon Ducks will be without Marcus Mariota who is in his rookie season with the Tennessee Titans.
The Ducks even without Mariota are still as talented as any team from the conference top to bottom. The QB position will be key to the Ducks success.
The Stanford Cardinal will be tough on the offensive side of the ball. The Key to Stanford's success will be how quickly the new faces on defense will put it together. The Cardinal are replacing six of their front seven from last season.
Stanford will face a big test in September as they will battle USC on the road. I expect Arizona State and USC to lead the South division. Arizona State lead by head coach Todd Graham are as loaded as ever in the backfield. Arizona State is known for their uptempo rushing attack.
ASU is so strong in the backfield this season that D.J. Foster who rushed for over 1,000 yards last season is moving to slot receiver. This team has serious potential especially if their passing defense can be respectable. USC had problems on the defensive side of the ball late in games last season. They will look to new defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox to right the ship. Wilcox put together quality defenses at Boise State, Tennessee and Washington before joining the Trojans. The Trojans should have no trouble moving the ball on offense this season. I hope you enjoyed this quick look at the Pac-12. Be on the lookout for more in depth articles.
