It has been an unbelievable UEFA Champions League season so far, and now we get ready for the final stages, the most important and exciting matchups are about to come, as only the top eight teams remain in the competition.

Champions League quarterfinal matchups will be played from April 6th to the 14th and we're expecting some unbelievable games to come as each of the eight teams are looking to seal their ticket to the Champions League final in Istanbul, on May 28th. An unusual Group Stage left some of the favorites out It has been an unusual season in this UEFA Champions League, and some of the great ones had a lot of trouble making their way into the final stages, in fact, a couple of them even got eliminated prematurely, making way for new stars at unexpected teams to make their appearance. Manchester United was one of the teams that couldn't pass the group stage, but in the end, it wasn't that surprising considering that the team has had many ups and downs in the past few seasons. One that came as a surprise was Inter Milan, not only because they're one of best teams in Italy's history, but also because they're leading the Serie A this season and are about to become champions, ending with Juventus long overdue monopoly. Juventus was actually one of the teams that had more trouble than usual to make it through the group stage, however, they managed to do it, and had to face Porto in the best of 16 round. This just has not been a Juventus season so far and, to everyone's surprise, Porto got the best of them and made it through to the quarterfinals after tying 4-4 in their series, but having more away goals, leaving Cristiano Ronaldo and his team out of the competition for good. Lionel Messi’s Barcelona was another one that just couldn't live up to the expectations and they got massacred by a very strong PSG side that is hungry for victory. Sad Champions League season for Messi, if this is indeed his last with the team that has seen him become one of the best, if not the best, in football history.

These series will be defined in the next couple of weeks while the semifinals will take place from April 26 to May 5th and the big final game will take place on May 28th as we already mentioned before, in Istanbul.
