With the first pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams select, Jared Goff, quarterback, California. With the second pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select, Carson Wentz, quarterback, North Dakota State. This weekend, these two will face each other for the first time, but it surely will not be their last.

When: 4:25 PM ET, Sunday, December 10, 2017

Where: Los Angeles Memorial Stadium, Los Angeles, California

TV Coverage: FOX

Betting Line: Rams -1 Total: 48

With the way these two teams are playing, with the help of great QB play, these two may be facing each other in the coming months in the playoffs. The Philadelphia Eagles (10-2) and the Los Angles Rams (9-3) are on top of their divisions, sitting 2 and 3 in the NFC, respectively. As well, most top sportsbooks have the Eagles as the favorite to win the NFC at +225, with the Rams 4th at +500, behind only Minnesota (+230) and Seattle (+350).

Before we get deeper into the matchup, I love looking back at trades that got the players where they are today. Tennessee had the first pick in the draft, but traded its first-, fourth-, and sixth-round selections (1st113th, and 177th) to Los Angeles in exchange for Los Angeles' first-round, two second-round, and third-round selections in this year's draft (15th43rd45th, and 76th) as well as Los Angeles's first- and third-round selections in the 2017 NFL Draft. Cleveland traded the 2nd overall pick and a conditional fifth-round selection in 2017 (this selection would be upgraded to a compensatory fourth-round selection if the Browns receive one in 2017) to Philadelphia in exchange for Philadelphia's first-round, third-round, and fourth-round selections in this years draft (8th77th, and 100th) as well as Philadelphia's first-round selection in the 2017 NFL Draft and second-round selection in the 2018 NFL Draft. We’re yet to really see how all this plays out, but right now, it looks like both the Rams and Eagles made the right move trading up to draft their QB of the future. How did the rest of the top 5 shake up that night in Chicago? Chargers got Joey Bosa at 3, Cowboys drafted Zeke Elliott at 4 and the Jaguars selected Jalen Ramsey at #5. Strong top of the draft.

OK…to Sunday’s game. America’s Bookie line movers have been busy with this one. After it opened anywhere from PK to Rams -2.5, it can now be found anywhere from Rams 2.5 to +1. This is where having multiple bookies to shop from comes in handy. In a game this close, an extra point or two can make a big difference on your bottom line.

The Eagles suffered only their second loss of the season last week in Seattle, their first of three tough road games in a row. Wentz had a pretty good day, throwing for 348 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT, but the vet Russell Wilson found the endzone 3 times on 227 yards, with no picks. A beat up Seahawks defense looked for good as well, sacking Wentz three times and a total of eight tackles for a loss.

The Rams took care of business in Arizona last weekend, their second win against their division foes from the desert. Goff didn’t hurt his team, throwing for 220 yards, 2 TD’s and a pick, but it was Todd Gurley who carried his team. He led his team in both rushing and receiving with 74 yards on the ground and 84 threw the air.

In the last 10 games when these two play, spanning all the way back to December of 1998, the Eagles have a decided advantage going 7-3 SU and 8-1-1 ATS. Sportsbooks know all too well that the Eagles are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 played overall, with the Rams 6-1 ATS in their last 7.

This may be the best game on the Week 14 NFL schedule, and is definitely the best last afternoon game, so be sure to watch the line moves carefully at the top online sportsbooks and jump when the line hits your mark.
