When it comes to the dog days of summer, baseball betting takes center stage. To some, it's just a stop gap between the NBA and NFL seasons...but to others, myself included, it's the most profitable time of the year.
Betting on baseball is so much more than an intermission between basketball and football. Just talk to about any professional handicapper and they'll tell you their bankroll is made during the dog days of summer.
It may not be the most popular sport and certainly isn't the most action packed one either, but when it comes to finding value and extremely favorable situations, baseball stands head and and shoulders above all other major sports.
As you can probably tell by now, I'm a very big proponent of handicapping baseball. With each team playing 162 regular season games, outstanding opportunities and +EV situations can be found much more often than any other professional sport.
It is extremely difficult for the sportsbooks/oddsmakers to set accurate sides and totals every single day for teams that play on an average of 5-6 times a week. A lot of times they’re simply giving it there best guess.
If your serious about becoming a winning handicapper, then baseball should be your number one sport...no question about it. College Basketball is probably a close second (or even a tie at first) with the NFL, NBA, and College Football falling far behind.
Lines are extremely sharp in the NFL, NBA, and for the most part College Football. Granted, you'll find some opportunities in those sports, but as I said before, if you want to be successful, your bread and butter should be handicapping baseball.
