NFL teams were informed on Tuesday that a private workout will be held for Colin Kaepernick next Saturday in Atlanta.

It will reportedly include on-field work and an interview and all 32 NFL teams are invited to attend. Video footage of the entire session will be made available to them.

The NFL arranged this workout opportunity for Kaepernick and teams will be able to evaluate if he is ready and willing to resume his career in the league. Over the last few months, Kaepernick's agents have said many times that he wants to return to the league and now he will get a chance to prove himself.

This is what Kaepernick posted on Twitter: "I'm just getting word from my representatives that the NFL league office reached out to them about a workout in Atlanta on Saturday. I've been in shape and ready for this for 3 years, can't wait to see the head coaches and GMs on Saturday."

Colin Kaepernick's camp contacted the Steelers, Saints and Jets in September but nothing came out of it.

Kaepernick hasn't played in the NFL since the 2016 season. He sat and then knelt during the National Anthem before NFL games as a protest against police brutality and systemic racism in the United States and other players did the same, which made the NFL create a policy in response. This possibly cost Kaepernick a chance to play in the NFL.

The 32-year-old signal-caller had 12,271 passing yards and 72 touchdowns with 30 interceptions in 69 games (58 starts) over six years with the 49ers. He led San Francisco to the Super Bowl in 2013 against the Ravens and he shined with 16 completions in 28 attempts for 302 yards and one touchdown with one interception. He also ran for 62 yards and another score in seven carries but the 49ers lost 34-31. He has not played in the NFL since a 25-23 loss against the Seahawks on January 1, 2017.
