LB Kyahava Tezino spearheads the defense with 96 tackles on a "D" that's ranks 4th in scoring defense @ 12.8 PPG. SMU vs. Florida Atlantic (NCAAF) - 3:30 PM EST Premium Pick Pick: Point Spread: 8/-109 Florida Atlantic Rating: 8* Mike's Home Sweet Home Roadie (WIN) There's 2 ways of looking @ this game after FAU HC Lane Kiffin bolted for Ole Miss. The inside track says the players wanted interim HC/DC Glenn Spencer to become their new HC. I say those players play HARD for Spencer despite knowing that new HC Willie Taggert takes over next season. These same Owls are 3-0 SU & ATS in bowl games & take on a team that's a no-show 1-8 ATS in their final 3 games of the season these past few seasons. There's not much to say about going up against an S.M.U. defense ranked 102nd but being favored by this much in a true road bowl game. I feel that the Mustangs' BIGGEST win this season over a bowl team was Arkansas State speaks louder than words -- "Soft Schedule". Let's gladly go down to FAU stadium in Boca Raton for the Boca Raton Bowl & grab the FLORIDA ATLANTIC OWLS (buying to + 10 1/2) as my Home Sweet Home Roadie! These are familiar with each other & are playing on a grass field. I prefer HC Doc Holliday's (out of the Urban Meyer system) unit who stresses defense & time of possession with a punishing ground game over the pass-heavy UCF team that features a freshman QB in Dillon Gabriel. The Herd is making their 4th appearance in this area & Holliday uses this bowl (state of Florida) as a recruiting tool (30 on current roster). They'll be the MORE excited team!
