Becoming a Top 5 team for the first last 13 YEARS has its drawbacks. They now take on a 2-0 SU & not getting too much attention Wyoming squad that's already beaten a Big 12 team in #24 Texas Tech by a 35-33 count in 2 OT's in their opener. Texas is off a BIG 34-24 emotional win against a physical Alabama team & are caught in a sandwich here as they have their Big 12 opener next week versus Baylor. The last 2 times the Cowboys played @ Texas, we saw 31 & 28-point Longhorns' chalk. Hook'em Horns won those games 37-17 & 34-7 for an 0-2 spread mark. This season, HC Steve Sarkisian's squad has had the balls bounce their way turning in a 5/0 +5 turnover ratio. He'll take on a Craig Bohl-coached team that carry a 3-0 ATS versus the Big 12 the past 13 seasons & are also a hefty 7-1 versus the number when undefeated in a road opener. In the past 5 instances when Texas has been a double-digit favorite coming off an upset win as an underdog of 7 or more, they've proceeded to come back to post a ticket-ripping 0-4-1 ATS. My bottom line says I like that Wyoming emphasizes its run game & defense. I love the fact their defense is only allowing 92 YPG (2.5 YPR) & have sacked opponent QB's 7 times. Here's a system that's the MAJOR eye-catcher! When there's chalk that's favored by 16 or more AND fresh off upsetting Alabama, the past 43 years have produced just 2 returned visits to the window in 11 chances. If they were also dogs of more than 7 like Texas, those teams have failed all 4 times ATS after beating the Crimson Tide. With a bunch of Quinn Ewers will raise the Heisman Trophy talk buzzing, we'll be glad to go Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin to play the WYOMING COWBOYS (buying to + 31 1/2 @ -150) as my 9 Star CFB Saturday Night Special! NOTES: The Cowboys jumped out to a 7-0 lead (Northern Illinois transfer Harrison Waylee in his 1st start ran for 110 yards including the 62-Yd TD run) & gave Texas all they can handle for 3 quarters. Without 2 key mistakes (a blown coverage & a pick-6) in the 4th & this one could have went to the wire. The Longhorns only showed a slim 316-291 yardage edge with Wyoming dominating the ball with a +18 minute possession edge. I saw ONE game this weekend where the line was out of whack & this was it.
