Game 5- Pressure on the Warriors
RJ Robbins Jun 12, 2017
Tonight is Game 5 of the NBA Championship. The Warriors lead the Cavs 3 games to 1. I just heard a player say that the pressure is on the Warriors! Excuse me- The pressure is on the team that is up 3 to 1, plus would have 2 of the 3 games at home. He went on to say that the Warriors added Kevin Durant to a team that won over 70 games last year. Unless you were living under a rock the Warrior ...  read more

This is year number '3' of Manager Jeff Bannister running the Ship for the Rangers! He has 2 Division Crowns and a 'Manager of the Year' under his belt. This season will be a harder path to a third straight Division Crown. The Rangers might not even be the best Baseball team in the Texas because of the up and coming Houston Astros! RJ Robbins Nov 16, 2016
Everybody by now that follows the NFL has heard Tony Romo's wonderful speech saying that Dak Prescott has earned the right to be the starting QB of the Cowboy's. Period. He came out and said the exact thing he should have. Prescott has lead the Cowboys to 8 straight wins and a record of 8-1. The last time the Cowboys had won this many games in a roll was Tony Dorsett's rookie year in 1977, (whe ...  read more

The 2016 World Series will go down as one of the best ever with the Cubs defeating the Indians in 7 games! With Baseball Season over lets look back and see how we did on my 2 prop plays. Are you kidding me!!
RJ Robbins Sep 30, 2016
Well it happens to everyone of us. However last Saturday night within an hour it happened twice. Pardon me make that 3 times! Let's start with the Stanford and UCLA game. Stanford was a 3, 3.5 point favorite and UCLA was giving the Cardinal all they could handle. With less than minutes to play Stanford scores to take a 16-13 lead. On the last play UCLA QB Josh Rosen dropped back to threw a ...  read more

Follow the line movement
RJ Robbins Sep 15, 2016
Last weekend let's look at two games where the line went up and down like a roller coaster. Let's start in the Colleges with Arkansas and TCU. The line started TCU around 9 to 9.5 and went down to 7 to 7.5. I put out Arkansas at plus 7.5. I was upset with myself for not pulling the trigger at 8 or 8.5. Well Saturday afternoon with a couple of hours before kick off the line rose all the way to 1 ...  read more

Romo's Last Stand?
RJ Robbins Aug 29, 2016
I started writing this during the start of the Dallas/Seattle NFLX game. I was going to write the Cowboys will be fine going with Dak Prescott as the #2 QB behind Tony Romo. Then the play that changed this article and the Cowboy's season with Romo breaking a bone in his lower back. Is the Cowboy's season over? Most experts think so. I don't. Prescott a 4th round draft pick has had a good eno ...  read more

The Cubs weren't exactly hurting when it came to their bullpen. Closer Hector Rondon was and still is having a great year with a record of 1-2, with 18 saves and a ERA under 2.00! Rondon will now move to t ...  read more

The King and his Court make History!
RJ Robbins Jun 21, 2016
By now you have heard all the experts explain why Cleveland won the NBA Championship or why Golden St. lost it. Trying to convince someone their opinion is the right side is like trying to change someone's mind about there politics! Not going to happen! King James did put Cleveland on his shoulders and brought them back from being down 3 games to 1! Personally I went 14-9, hitting 61% of my se ...  read more

Number & Figures, Figures & Numbers!
RJ Robbins Apr 25, 2016
In Sports there is a stat and a number for everything. We apply it in handicapping in hopes of beating the spread, side or total. Basically everyone has the same information (some handicappers have better than others) so you would think everyone would come to the same conclusion. 'NOPE'! There are different variables that people look at when handicapping a game. Let's face you can be on the ...  read more

Detroit Tigers Over 82.5 Wins -1.35
RJ Robbins Mar 31, 2016
The best thing about the 2015 season for the Tigers is the season is over and in the rear view mirror. The 74 wins is the low point. Before last year the Tigers were averaging 91 victories a year from 2011 to 2014. The fate of the Tigers goes back to pitcher Justin Verlander. Last year Justin was just 5-8 with a decent era of 3.28. Arm injuries have held back the former Cy Young & MVP. From ...  read more

Texas Rangers Over 83 Wins -1.30
RJ Robbins Mar 29, 2016
The last time we saw the Rangers they were in the midst of getting beat in the AL Play offs by Toronto. However before the Play offs started they were finishing off an outstanding season by winning the AL Western Division. After a terrible start and a bunch of injuries, first year Manager Jeff Bannister kept the Rangers focus. At the All-Star Break there were 42-46, while the LA Angeles were 4 ...  read more

Yogi Berra ISMS 101
RJ Robbins Feb 28, 2016
The other night I was looking at the odds and reading some articles, (like everybody does) and the Denver/Dallas NBA match up was about to come on. Early that morning after I did my home work (handicapping) I couldn't make up my mind on going with Denver plus the points (+5.5) or taking the Over 208. The entire day I kept thinking about the game. Well to make a long story short I ended up passi ...  read more

NFL All Star Games Pro or Con
RJ Robbins Jan 25, 2016
Is it time to get rid of the NFL Pro Bowl? Voting has turned into a popularity contest. You have 2 X-NFL players choosing up teams. Was moving the game the week before the Super Bowl a mistake? The game itself has turned into a gloried 'touch pass' game. The players really don't want to be there, mainly due to the chance of an injury. If they are on the Super Bowl teams they d ...  read more

College and NFL Money Management 102

MID TERM EXAM

When it comes to handicapping there is no exact science. One factor you can't measure is 'turnovers'! Let's face it the teams that don't turn the ball over is the team that usually ends up in the win column. You can add another factor the 'DBS'. This is very simple, however players sometimes just don't get it. The 'DBS' is 'Don't Be Stupid'. Don't be stupid as don't make ...  read more
