Alabama star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa might have plenty of time to prepare for a crucial game against No. 1 LSU on November 9th.
Tagovailoa will return to practice on Wednesday but his status against LSU is still up in the air. Tagovailoa's evolution in the different practices before the game will ultimately determine if he is ready to go or not, which can alter the betting odds significantly. Alabama will host LSU in possibly the biggest game of the year and Tagovailoa might be able to be under center. He missed the 48-7 win against Arkansas last Saturday because he had a "tight rope" ankle surgery on October 20 to speed up the healing process. He suffered the ankle injury during the second quarter of the 35-13 win against Tennessee on October 19. Tagovailoa was 11-for-12 for 155 yards and one interception before the injury. Mac Jones would replace him and he completed 6 of 11 passes for 72 yards against Tennessee and played well against Arkansas, completing 18 of 22 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns. Tagovailoa's recovery is going well but Alabama head coach Nick Saban didn't want to say if his he can play against LSU. "We'll just have to see what he can do," Saban said on Monday. "Evaluate his mobility and his performance. I can't really predict any of that. Just have to let it happen and see how it goes." Saban added that he will know more once Tagovailoa has enough practice time and that the team has plenty of time to make an announcement.
