You have to figure it’s a must-win tonight for the St. Louis Cardinals in
Game 5 of the National League
Championship Series against the Brewers, because a loss by the Cards would
force them to have to go to Milwaukee and win two games to advance to the World
Series. The Brewers were by far the majors’ best team at home this season. St.
Louis is a -125 favorite tonight on Bodog’s MLB baseball odds with live betting available. Milwaukee tied the series at two games apiece with a 4-2 win on Thursday
night. Ryan Braun went 2-for-5 with an RBI and became the first
player in postseason history to reach base in his first plate appearance in
eight straight games. The Cardinals had won the previous two games by a combined
score of 16-6. But in Game 4 the Cards were 0-for-8 with runners in scoring
position. Perhaps losing was a good omen for St. Louis. The one time St. Louis led an
NLCS 3-1 (1996 vs. Atlanta), it lost the series in seven games. And all four
times the Cards played in an NLCS tied 2-2, they've gone on to win and advance
to the World Series. Tonight’s pitching matchup features the Cards’ Jaime Garcia
vs. Milwaukee’s Zack Greinke in a rematch of Game 1,
won 9-6 by the Brew Crew. Neither pitcher was very good in that one. Garcia
allowed six runs on six hits (two homers) in four innings. Greinke allowed six
runs on eight hits in six innings but got the win. Braun two hits, including a
homer, and four RBIs. This could be the final game for Cardinals star in Albert Pujols
in St. Louis with him set to become a free agent after the season. Get the best MLB odds and props at the Web’s gaming leader
