Let's face it. Anytime a team can post a shutout in college football it's a noteworthy event. Out of curiosity, I turned to my database to see how often a shutout occurred. Amazingly, since 1980, there have been 1,260 goose eggs posted! That's an average of around 45 a season! Of course, you know the technical lover in me had to dig a little deeper to see if posting a shutout led to profits anywhere else. Surprisingly, there wasn't much. Overall, teams coming off a shutout victory owned a reliable 73-43-1 ATS record provided they were matched up against an opponent that entered off a straight up loss as a favorite. You can store that one for later because no teams apply this weekend. After a bundle of searches, I did find one shutout situation that worked like a charm. Take a look.
