In an unusual turn of events in Week 17 the Tennessee Titans need only an NFL Picks win against the Indianapolis Colts to clinch the final AFC Wild Card slot. The Tennessee Titans control their destiny and they will be playing a Colts team that has already locked up a first-round bye. The Titans currently share the AFC's sixth seed with the Cleveland Browns at 9-6 SU. Just last year Tennessee was in a similar situation but it lost to the New England Patriots 40-23 in the regular seasons final game. Last week Tennessee beat the New York Jets, 10-6 while their defense contributed six sacks and two interceptions as they won their third of their last four games. It would appear that the Titans might need the Colts to rest their starters because way back in Week Two Peyton Manning completed 28 of 42 passes for 312 yards as Indianapolis beat Tennessee. The Colts have been battling injuries all season long but come into this game having won six in a row for the second time this season and sit at 13-2 SU overall. Last week Dungy started the rest period for his starters as Manning didn’t play the fourth quarter after going 28 of 35 for 311 yards and 3 touchdowns. RB Joseph Addai also got rest as he carried the ball only 6 times for 26 yards. Backup QB Sorgi looks possibly take most of the snaps this week after finishing the fourth quarter last week 3 of 5 for 29 yards. For those who handicap using trends consider that head coach Tony Dungy’s team is only 1-10 ATS in the L2 weeks of the regular season while he has been coach. But the Titans are on a bit of a streak of their own as they are 9-2 ATS in their L11 division games, including 3-0 ATS in their L3 versus the Colts. The Brown faithful are hoping that the Indianapolis Colts will play their starters and beat the Titans but will more than likely be holding their breath to see if that is actually the case.
