Both South Carolina and Arkansas still have hopes of reaching the SEC Championship Game next month, but you can all but write off the loser of tonight’s game in Fayetteville. The Hogs have opened as 4.5-point favorites on Bodog’s NCAA football odds.

No. 9 South Carolina (7-1, 5-1 SEC) is tied atop the SEC East Division with Georgia, but USC holds the head-to-head tiebreaker. This is the final true road game of the season for the Gamecocks, who only have a matchup vs. a struggling Florida team left in SEC regular-season play. No. 8 Arkansas (7-1, 3-1) could still win the SEC West if LSU beats Alabama tonight and the Hogs run the table on the rest of their schedule, which includes a season-ending game at No. 1 LSU.

South Carolina, which lost star RB Marcus Lattimore for the season recently, has struggled offensively the past two weeks but used stout defense to beat Tennessee 14-3 last Saturday. Brandon Wilds, who replaced Lattimore and made his first career start, rushed for 137 yards vs. the Vols. Connor Shaw threw for only 87 yards but did have one TD rushing and passing. USC is No. 6 in the nation in total defense and No. 3 in passing defense. It has allowed a total of 37 points in its past five games.

Arkansas has won four in a row since its lone loss of the season, at Alabama. The Hogs were pushed last week by Vanderbilt before winning 31-28 when the Commodores’ kicker missed a 27-yard tying field goal with eight seconds left. QB Tyler Wilson threw for 316 yards and a TD and has now gone 176 consecutive passes without a pick. It was the Hogs’ third win this season when trailing by double-digits.

Since joining the SEC, Arkansas has won 12 of 19 meetings vs. USC. The Gamecocks are just 2-7 at Arkansas and just 1-5 ATS in the past six there. Last year in Columbia, Arkansas won 41-20 for its fourth win in the past five meetings.
