(9) Butler Bulldogs at (6) Xavier Musketeers 1:00 PM ET
Before Butler and Xavier square off on Saturday, they both have difficult matchups on Thursday as the Bulldogs host No. 12 Providence while the Musketeers travel to No. 16 Villanova. Should both teams escape those tests, it will set up a big battle for early supremacy in the Big East. Xavier is one of the hottest teams at the betting window as going into Thursday, it has covered eight consecutive games. The Musketeers are balanced with five players averaging 10 or more ppg. Butler is off to its second best start in school history and won its lone road game, an impressive win over No. 22 Cincinnati.
(23) Baylor Bears at (2) Kansas Jayhawks 4:00 PM ET
Kansas is near the top of the polls once again as it looks to win its 12th consecutive Big XII regular season championship. The Jayhawks have lost only once this season, a six-point loss against Michigan St. that took place in Chicago. Baylor came into the season ranked No. 22 so it has not moved much despite a pair of losses. The Bears are 10-0 at home but 0-2 on the road with losses at Oregon and Texas A&M. It has been a soft schedule for the Bears thus far as they have played the 328th ranked slate. The Bears have covered just one of six lines games on the season.
(11) Iowa St. Cyclones at (3) Oklahoma Sooners 7:00 PM ET
With the loss by Michigan St. against Iowa on Tuesday, a win here could vault the No. 3 Sooners into the top spot of the rankings. Oklahoma has yet to lose this season and owns some solid wins over Memphis and Villanova. The Sooners are great on both sides of the ball as they are 7th in the nation in scoring and are 2nd in defensive shooting, holding opponents to just 35.7 percent from the floor. Iowa St. has only one loss, a two-point setback on a neutral floor against Northern Iowa. The Cyclones are offensively gifted by they have struggled on the other end as they are ranked 189th in scoring defense.
