In This Feature Rob will examine the World Series historical results and review both teams chances at winning the Championship and illustrate which team is expected to take home the prize. The 2015 World Series takes center stage and features this years surprise team the NY. Mets and last years American League Champs the Kansas City Royals, who lost last seasons Series to SF in 7 games. This years story line will be The Pitching of the Mets and the Hitting of the Royals.

The Mets are this years surprise team as they were projected as a high 70/s win team and hade several things break their way. Their big strength is their starting pitching which features 4 aces in DeGrom, Harvey, Syndergaard and Matz, along with one of the Majors best young closers in J.Familia. The Mets have been propelled by 2nd basemen Dan Murphy who has set a record for consecutive home runs in playoff games going deep in 6 straight. They have solid leadership with Captain David Wright who made it back from back stenosis. They traded for Detroit Slugger Yoenis Cespendes and have a solid lineup to go with their pitching. The Mets must not uses phrases like "happy to be here" they must play to win and go with the Good pitching beats good hitting mantra.

Kansas City is back in the World series and comes off one of the highest scoring American League Championship series in A.L.C.S History. The 64 combined runs by Kansas City and Toronto in the 2015 ALCS tie for the 4th highest in an MLB playoff series lasting at least six games (a category led by Toronto and the Philadelphia Phillies with 81 combined runs in the 1993 World Series), and are the most in a best of 7 MLB playoff series lasting six games since the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers combined for 69 runs in their 2011 National League Championship Series. The point here is the KC can hit but can also allow runs. The Royals big advantage in this series is the fact they lost last year and know what its like to lose on this stage and what it takes to get back here. They have home field advantage, play solid defense and have one of the best bullpens in the Majors. They play small ball and can manufacture runs. They will need starting pitchers, Cueto and Ventura to be good enough to keep them in these games against a vaunted Mets line up.

Historical: Some interesting World series Indicators add some nice spice to this years fall classic. The Mets have 2 rookie starters going in Matz and Syndergaard. Since 1955, spanning 60 years only 4 teams have had this in common. All four teams have won the world series. However, The Mets are one of only four teams in this format to start the series on the road after sweeping in league Championship series play. All four of those teams lost the World Series. Kansas City is among 6 other teams to be back in the series off a loss the previous year. Of the 6 teams 4 have come back to win, including 3 of the last four. Below is the all time Results for teams with Home field advantage in the World series. These home teams win 58% of the time. Which is good but not great.

HISTORICAL VICTORY PROBABILITIES: Playing Game 1 @ H: Ignoring win order; considering site order: The team playing Game 1 @ H (Kansas City) has the following best-of-7 playoff series and games record through the 2015 MLB Semifinals rounds: series record, all best-of-7 sports, all rounds: 837-415 series record, all best-of-7 sports, Finals round: 165-93 series record, MLB only, all rounds: 90-73 series record, MLB only, Finals round: 61-45 Game 1 record, all best-of-7 sports, all rounds: 838-414 Game 1 record, all best-of-7 sports, Finals round: 168-80 Game 1 record, MLB only, all rounds: 92-72 Game 1 record, MLB only, Finals round: 63-43 In Closing we are expecting a very Competitive series here. Both teams have their advantages, strengths and weaknesses. However, In baseball one factor that has stood the test of time is to believe. Good pitching beats good hitting. The Mets have the better pitching, and have displayed enough offense to beat the likes of Kershaw, Greinke and Arietta this post season. KC has not come close to having to face the wall to wall pitching they will see here. The Mets have something Magical happening this year. We will select them here and expect them to be your 2015 World champs. RV
