Arizona State can all but clinch the Pac-12 North Division title and a spot
in the inaugural Pac-12 Championship Game with a win tonight over UCLA, but the
Bruins will control their own destiny in the division with a victory. ASU opened
as a 9.5-point favorite on Bodog’s NCAA football odds. The No. 19 Sun Devils (6-2, 4-1 Pac-12) lead UCLA and ineligible USC by a
game in the division. ASU will be favored in every remaining game, so a win here
all but sews up the South. If UCLA (4-4, 3-2) beats Arizona State on Saturday
and win out, the Bruins would win the South. Arizona State had no trouble with Colorado last week, winning 48-14. QB
Brock Osweiler threw for 307 yards and two scores, running back
Cameron Marshall rushed for 114 yards and three TDs and the Sun
Devils forced five turnovers. UCLA continued its pattern of alternating wins and losses this season by
beating Cal 31-14. QB Kevin Prince rushed for a career-high 163
yards. It was the first time since Jeff Dankworth in 1976 that
a UCLA quarterback had eclipsed 100 yards rushing and the most rushing yards by
a Bruins quarterback since John Sciarra had 178 in 1974. The
Bruins were forced into a different game plan because they were down four
receivers because of suspensions handed down in the wake of the team’s brawl
with Arizona in the previous game. Tevin McDonald tied a UCLA
record by intercepting three passes in Saturday's game. He was the fifth Bruin
intercept three passes in a game, the last being Rahim Moore in
2009. UCLA leads Arizona State 16-10-1 in a series which dates back to 1976. The
Bruins have a 8-5-1 edge in games played in the Rose Bowl, where UCLA has won
four of the last five meetings with ASU. The Sun Devils won last year 55-34 in
Tempe despite the Bruins jumping out to a 17-0 lead. Osweiler threw for 380
yards and four scores. ASU has only one ATS loss in its past 10 conference
games. The home team has covered in the past four in this series. Bet on college football at Bodog: HOME OF INTENSE COLLEGE
