Missouri has been a disappointment so far this season, but the Tigers can
play spoiler on Saturday by upsetting No. 4 Oklahoma State in Columbia and end
the Cowboys’ national championship hopes. OSU opened as a 7.5-point favorite on
Bodog’s NCAA football odds. At No. 4 also in the BCS standings, Oklahoma State (6-0, 3-0 Big 12)
essentially controls its own destiny to play in the national title game because
the Pokes still play No. 3 Oklahoma and No. 1 LSU and No. 2 Alabama also face
off. However, the Cowboys didn’t look overly great last week in winning at
Texas 38-26. QB Brandon Weeden had been lighting up foes but
was only 23-for-41 for 218 yards with one TD. And OSU allowed Texas to rush for
231 yards and close a 28-10 third-quarter gap to 28-24. Still, the Cowboys are
second in the nation in total offense (551.2 yards per game), passing (395.7)
and scoring (49.2 points a contest). Missouri (3-3, 1-2) ended a two-game slide last week with a 52-17 home win
over Iowa State. QB James Franklin accounted for five
touchdowns and 333 yards of offense and the Tigers put up 583 yards of offense.
Mizzou had 298 yards rushing one week after managing just 112 yards in a loss at
No. 17 Kansas State. Indeed, Missouri’s three losses have come to three very
good teams in Arizona State, Oklahoma and KSU. OSU has won three of the past four meetings in this series, including 33-17
in the most recent meeting in 2009. The Cowboys have won their last eight road
games for the second longest streak in school history and second-longest current
streak in the country. Experience the rush of college football: get your NCAA
football team props at Bodog!
