Monday was yet another red-letter day in the Year of the Concussion.
Aaron Rome of the Vancouver Canucks had Nathan
Horton of the Boston Bruins lined up in the train tracks for a big hit,
but Horton passed the puck and the hit was delivered a step too late from the
blind side. Since Horton is out for the rest of the playoffs with a severe concussion, it’s fitting that Rome was suspended for four games, which takes him off the ice until next year. Even Steven. Just like the hockey betting lines for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup final; Boston remains a –125 home chalk after winning Game 3 at the same payout. Even Steven? Rome is one of Vancouver’s depth defensemen – a useful player,
but not as important in the grand scheme of things as Horton. The Bruins moved
from last to fifth in the league in scoring during the regular season, with
Horton scoring 26 goals after coming over from the Florida Panthers in the
Dennis Wideman trade. Only Milan Lucic (30)
had more goals for the Bruins this year. The talent gap between these two teams has increased with Rome and Horton out
of the picture. The Bruins are still in a strong position to even this series at 2-2. They’ve
won each of their last four games at home as the favorites, cashing in the OVER
five times in a row with the line set between –110 and –150. Vancouver’s a resilient team, though, going on a 39-18 run after scoring two
goals or fewer in the previous game. The OVER is priced at –135 for Wednesday’s
Game 4 (8:00 p.m. ET, Versus) with the total set at five goals. Don’t forget to check out our live betting menu for this matchup at
