The Bruins could have used Bergeron in Game 1; Tampa Bay took the B’s to the woodshed in that one, winning 5-2 as a +135 road dog and once again holding the Boston power play off the scoresheet. The Bolts improve slightly to +130 on Tuesday’s NHL betting lines.

Bergeron got his bell rung in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Philadelphia Flyers, and although the concussion was termed “mild” at the time, Bruins coach Claude Julien insists Bergeron won’t play unless he’s 100 percent on game day. According to the rumor mill, that day could be Thursday with Game 3 in Boston at the TD Garden.

Tampa Bay could be up 2-0 by then. Bergeron was Boston’s leading skater during the first two rounds, scoring two goals with 10 assists and posting a plus-7. He’s the team’s assistant captain, an energy guy with a strong two-way game and a 64.2-percent success rate on faceoffs during this postseason. The Bruins need to win more faceoffs in Tampa Bay’s zone if the power-play unit is expected to contribute – it went 0 for 21 against the Montreal Canadiens and 2 for 16 against the Flyers.

Then the Bruins have to get the puck past Dwayne Roloson, who continues to prove there is life after 40. Roloson (age 41) leads all goaltenders in the playoffs with a .941 save percentage, even better than Boston’s Tim Thomas (.932 SV%). Tuesday’s total is set at 5.5 goals; the UNDER is pegged at –135 despite Tampa Bay’s explosion in the series opener. The UNDER is 10-3-2 in Boston’s last 15 games after losing by at least three goals.
