Expect another defensive battle on Thursday night in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals when
Nashville hosts Vancouver down 2-1 in the series and with the Canucks as -125
favorites for this game on Bodog’s NHL odds. That each game has been decided by just one goal and the past two has gone to overtime is no surprise as each team has a Vezina Trophy finalist in net: Vancouver’s Roberto Luongo and Nashville’s Pekka Rinne. But the Predators simply must find some more offense. When Nashville won its first series in franchise history in the first round
against the Anaheim Ducks, the Preds did it largely thanks to their No. 1 line.
Sergei Kostitsyn, Mike Fisher and Patric Hornqvist
combined for 13 points in those six games. That trio has zero points so
far in this series. Through three games of the Preds-Ducks series, those two
teams had combined for 20 goals. In this series, the total is nine. Kostitsyn
was Nashville's leading scorer with 23 goals in the regular season but did not
have a shot in Game 3 and only has four in the series. And Nashville will be without winger Steve Sullivan for Game
4. Sullivan got tangled up with a Vancouver player and hobbled off the ice to
the locker room with 3:10 left in regulation on Tuesday in Game 3 and did not
return. It’s being called a lower-body injury. Sullivan has two goals so far in
these playoffs. Colin Wilson is likely to replace him. Wilson
played in every game in the regular season but has been a healthy scratch in the
postseason. Bet on Game 4 of Canucks-Predators now at Bodog!
