Flyers coach Peter Laviolette’s decision to go with
Brian Boucher in net for Game 3 of Philly’s Eastern Conference quarterfinal series
vs. Buffalo worked out well on Monday and Boucher will be in net again
tonight in Buffalo as the Flyers look to take a commanding 3-1 series lead.
However, Buffalo has opened as a slight -120 favorite on Bodog’s NHL odds. Boucher stopped 35 shots as the Flyers' new starter to lead them to a 4-2 victory in Game 3. It was Boucher's first start and second straight win of the series after he stopped 20 of 21 shots in relief of rookie Sergei Bobrovsky in a 5-4 victory in Game 2 on Saturday. Boucher is one of 10 different starting goalies the Flyers have used in the playoffs since and including 1997. It's the most different starting goalies used by a team during that span. In two games, Boucher
is 2-0 with a 1.68 goals-against average and .948 save percentage. His numbers are much better than those of Buffalo star Ryan Miller (1-2, 2.70 GAA, .915 save percentage). The Flyers improved to 6-0-2 in their past eight visits to Buffalo, including
the regular season. Buffalo has lost consecutive games for the first time since
ending a three-game skid Feb. 23. When leading a series by two games to one, the
Flyers have a 14-7 record in Game 4. The Sabres are 0-15 in playoff series they
have trailed by 2-1. Philadelphia is expected to be without star defenseman Chris Pronger
again tonight. The Flyers are 18-10-7 without Pronger and 5-5-5 in
their last 15 games. This is their first winning streak since he suffered a
concussion. Sabres RW Patrick Kaleta wore a cage on his helmet
during practice Tuesday to protect an undisclosed injury that forced him to miss
the final two periods of Game 3. Kaleta said he'll play tonight. Get the best player props on Flyers-Sabres at Bodog!
