The Ducks have been rolling for a while, on an 11-3-0 run thanks to Corey Perry, Bobby Ryan and Ryan Getzlaf, the team’s first-liners who have combined for 19 goals and 36 assists in this stretch. Perry is an NHL MVP candidate this season. He is tied for the NHL lead with 44 goals. A whopping 10 of his goals have been game-winners, which is a club record, and he also has 42 assists. Twenty-three of Perry’s goals have tied the score or put the Ducks ahead and he has 13 goals in March. Only two Ducks ever have had 13 goals in a month, the last being Paul Kariya in 2000. Yet Perry wasn’t the star of Monday’s 5-4 win over the Avalanche. That would be 40-year-old Teemu Selanne, who had a hat trick and five points. Selanne scored his first penalty-shot goal in 18 years on the way to his 22nd career hat trick.

Calgary ended a three-game losing streak and finished a 1-1-2 road trip Saturday with a 5-4 shootout victory over league-worst Edmonton. Flames star Jarome Iginla found the net in that one and has six goals in the last five games. This is the fourth meeting between Calgary and Anaheim this year and the Ducks won the first three. Perry has two game-winning goals against the Flames. Anaheim has never every matchup in this season series since entering the league in 1993.
