The fading Buffalo Bills will try to keep their AFC Wild Card hopes realistic on
Sunday afternoon when they host the Tennessee Titans on the NFL odds board.
The Bills lost their
fourth consecutive game over the weekend, blowing a late lead and taking a 28-24
loss on the road against the New York Jets. That result put the Bills at 5-6 on
the season, and they're now alone in third place in the AFC East division
standings.
Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 26 of his 39 pass
attempts for Buffalo in that loss, throwing three touchdown strikes and avoiding
any interceptions. C.J. Spiller, filling in for the injured
Fred Jackson, rushed for 55 yards on 19 carries in the
game.
Brad Smith, Stevie Johnson, and
David Nelson had the touchdown receptions for
Buffalo.
The Titans pulled out a 23-17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
on Sunday afternoon, scoring 13 points in the fourth quarter to improve their
season record to 6-5.
Tennessee QB Matt Hasselbeck was
good on just 19 of his 34 pass attempts for 160 yards in that win, with one
touchdown strike to Damian Williams and two interceptions.
Chris Johnson rushed for 190 yards on 23 carries but was held
out of the end zone.
The Titans and Bills last met in 2009 in a game
that Buffalo would like to forget – they were blasted 41-17 in Tennessee as an
8-point road underdog. That marked the third straight OVER result between the
two teams.
Overall Tennessee is 4-1 straight up and 3-2 against the
spread in its last five games against Buffalo, with the OVER/UNDER at 3-2 in
those contests.
