The Colts are the only
winless team left in the NFL this season, and everyone else has at least two
victories so far after 11 weeks – the Panthers, Minnesota Vikings, and St. Louis
Rams are the league's three two-win teams.
That puts Indianapolis firmly
in the driver's seat for top spot in next year's NFL Draft, with Stanford QB
Luck the consensus top player available. If there's any doubt about Manning's
neck going forward, the Colts might just choose to cut their ties with
him.
Just how little respect do books and the betting public have for
Indy right now? They're sitting as 3.5-point home underdogs against two-win
Carolina and rookie quarterback Cam Newton for
Sunday.
And to add insult to injury, the Panthers are riding a
three-game losing streak, getting beaten 49-35 on the road by the Detroit Lions
last week. Newton threw for 280 yards with one touchdown strike and an ugly four
interceptions in that contest, but also managed to run for 37 yards and two
scores on the day.

the Panthers in their Week 11 loss to Detroit.
The Colts were on a bye
last week, last taking the field in Week 10 when they lost 17-3 at home to
Jacksonville. Indy has put up a total of 27 points over their last four
games.
Indianapolis is 2-8 against the spread so far this season, with
Carolina a more lucrative option at 5-5 versus the odds over 10 games. The teams
last met back in October 2007 when Manning guided the Colts to a 31-7 win as a
7-point favorite in Carolina.
