#1 Ranking the Florida Gators - Things looked a bit shakey before NCAAF Picks all world, Tim Tebow decided to come back for another year. Both Gator fans and head coach Meyer were dancing in the streets. In addition the Gators return all 11 starters on the defensive side of the ball. Look for the Gators to win their NCAAF Picks 3rd title in the last 4 years.

#2 Ranking the USC Trojans - year after year Pete Carrol continues to have one of the top if not the top recruiting classes in the nation. They have been whining about Mark Sanchez leaving the NCAAF Picks for the NFL. But don't buy it. They're still loaded.

#3 Ranking the Texas Longhorns - The horns, still bellyaching about last years snub by the BCS, looks like they finally have figured out how to beat Oklahoma. Since their Big-12 schedule is not that tough and Colt McCoy is still in the fold, they should be in position to challenge for that top spot all season long.

#4 Ranking the Virginia Tech Hokies - why do you ask? Consider that the Hokies won the ACC last year in a year they were supposed to be rebuilding and this season has 17 returning starters. They do open the NCAAF Picks season versus Alabama so I'll know if my ranking for the Hokies is real or just a pipe dream.

#5 Ranking the Alabama Crimson Tide - The arrival of Nick Saban certainly ignited the Tide faithful after some miserable outings, so they'll have a lot to live up to this season. The Tide sported a defense that was third in the NCAAF Picks and returns all of their starters. Even with the loss of QB John Parker Wilson, I believe that Saban will have them there again.

#6 Rakning Sliding a bit this season to #6, I have the Oklahoma Sooners - The Sooner faithful breathed a sigh of releaf with Heisman Trophy Winner, Sam Bradford decided stay at Oklahoma. The more compelling issue is that the Sooners have had trouble winning the big games lately versus Texas. That will be their undoing in this seasons NCAAF Picks.

#7 Ranking Grabbing another Top 10 NCAAF Picks slot is the Penn State Nitney Loins at #7 - It seems that Joe Pa finally figured out how to get back into the National Spotlight (by playing patsies out of conference). They also have QB Daryll Clark returning and a Big-10 NCAAF Picks slate that is relatively easy. It's another Top 10 finiah only to get hammered in a Bowl game.

#8 Ranking Sneaking in for another peak at the BCS at #8 are the Boise State Broncos - The Broncos come into this NCAAF Picks campaign with 3 unbeaten seasons in the past five. When looking at the Broncos many focus on their prolific scoring over the years. However, consider that last seaons defense ranked amonst the best in the land. Lot's of scoring and a decent defense will take them a long way.

#9 Ranking Back in the National picture my vote goes to the #9 LSU Tigers - The Tigers look like they have solved their issues at the QB spot with Jordon Jeferson. Just look at last seasons crushing NCAAF Picks win over Georgia Tech at the end of the year. LSU is looking to replace a top notch front four on defense but bring back all 7 other defensive stars. Les Miles has a way of getting that "D" to be dominant.

#10 Ranking Rounding out my Top 10 this season are the California Golden Bears - The defense is returning all four starters in the secondary and on offense the nation's leading rusher in Jahvid Best. If the QB situation can stabalize they Bears should be able to put lots of points on the NCAAF Picks board as they have huge receivers that can catch the ball. Wouldn't surprise me if they get by USC and Oregon that this ranking will be a bit too low.
