Don't write off the Auburn Tigers just yet; the defending national champs
don't have quarterback Cam Newton around any longer, but
they're off to a 2-0 start as they get set to battle Clemson on the college
football betting lines this weekend. Auburn began their season by getting past Utah State 42-38 in their opener
two weeks ago, then managed to knock off No. 16 Mississippi State at home on
Saturday by a final score of 41-34 to pay off on the football betting lines at
the Bodog Sportsbook. Running back Michael Dyer paced the offense for Auburn in
their win over Mississippi State, rushing for 143 yards and a pair of
touchdowns. Quarterback Barrett Trotter completed 16 of his 23
pass attempts for 146 yards with two TD strikes and one interception in the win.
Emory Blake and Philip Lutzenkirchen had the
TD catches. Clemson is also 2-0 on the season, beating Troy by a final score of 43-19 in
their opener two weeks ago but not impressing anyone around college football
with a 35-27 victory over Wofford in a squeaker on Saturday in a game in which
they were listed as double-digit favorites. Tajh Boyd went 18-of-29 for 261 yards passing for Clemson
against the Terriers on Saturday, with three touchdown strikes and one TD run.
Andre Ellington ran for 162 yards and a score for Clemson in
that win, and he will be looking to do the same thing against tougher opposition
in Auburn this weekend. Kickoff for this all-Tigers battle is set for Noon ET at Clemson on Saturday
afternoon. Get all your college
