Utah State has stumbled to start the season, falling 42-38 at Auburn in Week 1, blowing past easy opponent Weber State 54-17 in Week 2, and then losing 35-34 at home to Colorado State over the weekend in double overtime.

That has the Aggies at 1-2 overall and 2-1 versus the college football odds on the year.

Against the Rams last time out QB Chuckie Keeton didn't do much for the team's passing game, completing just nine of his 15 throws for 86 yards with no touchdowns. Robert Turbin paced the Utah State attack with 115 yards and four scores on the ground in that contest. Kerwynn Williams also ran for a score that day.

The Cougars, playing as an Independent this season, starting off the year with a promising 14-13 win at Mississippi but then lost consecutive games to Texas (17-16) and Utah (54-10).

BYU then squared off their record at 2-2 (2-2 ATS) over the weekend with a 24-17 home victory over Central Florida. Cougars QB Jake Heaps went just 16-of-34 for 133 yards passing in that game, with no touchdown strikes and one interception.

Bryan Kariya and JJ Di Luigi both ran for scores for BYU in that loss, and Cody Hoffman returned a kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown.

Last year when these teams met Utah State pulled out a 31-16 home win, intercepting Heaps twice in the victory. For Friday night the Cougars are set as 8-point favorites at the Bodog Sportsbook.
