The Irish (3-2 SU, 2-3 ATS) blasted the Purdue Boilermakers 38-10 last week as quarterback Tommy Rees completed 24-of-40 passing attempts for 254 yards and three TDs, including a tone-setting 35-yard TD strike to WR Michael Floyd to open the scoring just 24 seconds into the game. Floyd finished the day with 12 receptions for 137 yards as Rees powered the Notre Dame offense to 551 yards of total offense (and zero turnovers) in the rout.

Running back Cierre Wood piled up 191 yards rushing on 20 carries, while Jonas Gray chipped in with another 94 yards on 15 carries as the Irish ground game was unstoppable. The Notre Dame defense held Purdue to just 84 yards rushing and 276 yards in total.

Meanwhile, the Falcons (3-1 SU, 1-3 ATS) squeaked out a 35-34 overtime win over the Navy Midshipmen in a controversial Week 5 college football betting result. Air Force blew an 18-point fourth-quarter lead as Navy came from behind to force the overtime period and then scored on a 1-yard touchdown run by Kriss Proctor to open the extra frame. However, Proctor was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct after the major, pushing the conversion attempt back to the 35-yard line, and the kick was blocked.

Air Force pivot Tim Jefferson then equalized the score with a 1-yard touchdown run on the next series, and the extra point from Parker Harrington provided the winning margin for the Falcons. Jefferson finished with nine completions in ten passing attempts for 136 yards and a major.
