Georgia Tech and Utah will meet for the first time since 2005 on Saturday afternoon as they take the field at the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas for a college football betting matchup at Bovada's online sportsbook.

Six years ago – in December 2005 - the Utes managed to beat the Yellow Jackets 38-10 on the road as a 9-point underdog in an OVER result. For Saturday's matchup, which begins at 3pm ET, Georgia Tech has been pegged as the 3-point favorite.
 
The Yellow Jackets, though, stumbled badly over the second half of the season as they encountered the top teams in their conference, going just 2-5 over their last seven games. That puts Georgia Tech at 8-4 heading into their bowl matchup on Saturday.
 
Georgia Tech last played on November 26 at home against Georgia, losing 31-17 in that contest as quarterbacks Tevin Washington and Synjyn Days combined to go just 6 of 15 for 112 yards passing with a pair of interceptions.
 
Orwin Smith and Davis Sims both rushed for scores for Georgia Tech in that defeat.
 
The Yellow Jackets went 5-6-1 against the spread and 7-5 on the OVER/UNDER this season, while the 7-5 Utes were 5-7 against the spread and 3-8-1 on the OVER/UNDER.
 
Utah had won four games in a row before falling 17-14 at home to Colorado in their last regular-season contest on November 25. Jon Hays completed 18 of 25 pass attempts for 185 yards with a touchdown for the Utes in that loss.
 
Tauni Vakapuna rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries against Colorado.
