The undefeated Boise State Broncos beat a WAC opponent by 20 points in college
football betting action last week, and subsequently fell from No. 4 to No. 5
in the AP Top 25 rankings. So the Mountain West-leading Broncos (4-0 SU, 2-2 ATS) know they have to rout another WAC opponent and look good while doing it in their Week 6 matchup, as Kellen Moore leads Boise State into California to take on Fresno State on Friday night at Bulldog Stadium. Moore, who entered this campaign at 12/1 on the football
futures to win the Heisman Trophy, completed just 19-of-33 passing attempts
for 142 yards and threw two interceptions in Boise State’s 30-10 win over Nevada
last Saturday afternoon. That uneven performance left AP voters unimpressed even though Moore also
tossed a pair of touchdown passes as Boise State cruised to a 20-0 halftime
lead. Running back Doug Martin had a strong day with 126 yards
rushing on 21 carries with two scores, and the Broncos’ defense limited Nevada
to 182 total yards. Fresno State, which will move to the Mountain West Conference next season and
rejoin its former WAC rival, figures to provide a stiffer challenge for the
Broncos than Nevada. The Bulldogs (2-3 SU, 2-3 ATS) rebounded from a pair of
tough road losses at California and Nebraska to knock off North Dakota at home
and Idaho on the road, before falling 38-28 to Ole Miss last week in a game they
led after three quarters. Sophomore pivot Derek Carr has thrown for almost 1,300 yards
already this season with ten touchdowns and only four picks. Five-foot-seven RB
Robbie Rouse is well on his way to a second consecutive
1,000-yard rushing season with 600 yards on 133 carries and four touchdowns. Boise State is listed as a huge 21-point favorite to get the road victory
this Saturday night. The Broncos are 5-0 ATS in their past five head-to-head
matchups against the Bulldogs. Get all your college
