A pair of Big 12 also-rans
will take the gridiron on Thursday night this week as the Texas A&M Aggies
play host to the Texas Longhorns in college football betting action. The Longhorns (6-4 straight up, 5-5 against the spread) are coming off back-to-back losses to Missouri and Kansas State,
dropping a 17-13 decision to the Wildcats in their most recent game over the
weekend. Texas quarterbacks Case McCoy and
David Ash both struggled in that contest; McCoy went 8 of 16
for 80 yards passing with one touchdown strike, while Ash was good on just 7 of
16 pass attempts for 39 yards with two interceptions. Blaine Irby had the TD reception
for Texas in that loss, while Justin Tucker booted a pair of
field goals to keep the game close. The Aggies (6-5 SU, 3-8 ATS) trounced Kansas by a
61-7 score at home in their last game, putting an end to a three-game losing
streak. Ryan Tannehill completed 21 of his
26 pass attempts for 280 yards for Texas A&M in that contest, connecting on
three touchdown strikes with no interceptions in the win. Ryan
Swope caught nine passes for 137 yards with two touchdowns on the
day. Nate Askew also had a TD reception
for Texas A&M against Kansas, while Cyrus Gray rushed for
94 yards and three scores on nine carries. Texas A&M beat Texas 24-17 as a 3-point road
favorite when these schools met last season, but the Longhorns are 7-3 SU (4-5-1
ATS) in the last 10 matchups. The OVER/UNDER went 4-6 in those 10
contests. Get all your college football odds at Bodog.
