North Carolina (24-6, 15-12 ATS), ranked sixth in the nation, has enjoyed a fantastic resurgence after missing March Madness a season ago. The Tar Heels have won 12 of their last 13 games, with their lone loss coming on the road to Duke, though UNC closed out the regular season with a home victory over the Blue Devils. North Carolina also covered three of its last four games.

Duke (27-4, 16-14 ATS) wound up second in the ACC despite being ranked higher in the national polls (fifth) than the Tar Heels. The Blue Devils stumbled somewhat to close out the regular season, losing two of their last three games. Duke failed to cover any of those games, so momentum isn’t in the team’s favor.

There’s a big drop-off after the big two, but there are still plenty of teams that can get hot and contend for an ACC championship. Florida State (21-9, 13-10-2 ATS) enjoyed another solid campaign, though the Seminoles also struggled down the stretch, going 2-2 in their last four games. At least FSU covered its final two outings.

Clemson (20-10, 12-13-1 ATS) won three of its last four, erasing a recent two-game losing streak. Unfortunately, two of the last three Tigers losses came against teams it will certainly need to get through — North Carolina and Duke. At least Clemson went 3-1 ATS down the stretch.

Virginia Tech (19-10, 11-12-2 ATS) continues the trend of ACC teams struggling to finish the regular season strong. The Hokies lost their final two games both straight up and against the spread. The same goes for Maryland (18-13, 10-15 ATS), which has lost three consecutive games both straight up and against the spread.
