The Oklahoma City Thunder and Memphis Grizzlies are in the midst of an
intense battle on the NBA betting
board. The series is tied 2-2 and shifts back to Oklahoma City for Game 5 on
Wednesday. The teams needed triple overtime to settle Game 4, with Oklahoma City coming out on top 133-123. The Grizzlies ran out of gas in the end, getting outscored 14-4 in the final period, while the Thunder’s stars kept on pushing. Kevin Durant struggled in the fourth quarter and overtime of
Oklahoma’s Game 3 loss, going just 2-for-10 in that stretch. It was another
story on Monday, when he scored six points in the third and final overtime.
Durant finished with 35 points and 13 rebounds. Oklahoma City also got a major boost from Russell Westbrook,
who scored a game-high 40 points and added five rebounds and five assists. More
importantly, Westbrook protected the ball, making just three turnovers in nearly
52 minutes of action. The Thunder have climbed to fourth on the NBA
championship odds at 5/1. In contrast, despite upsetting San Antonio in the
first round and giving the Thunder a real battle, the Grizzlies are
second-last—ahead of only Atlanta—with 25/1 odds to win
the NBA championship. Memphis is even behind the Boston Celtics, who are
down 3-1 in their playoff series with Miami. There’s not much to criticize Memphis for after the loss on Monday. They were
simply tired out by the third overtime. Zach Randolph and
Marc Gasol continue to be beasts in the paint, combining for 60
points and 37 rebounds. The Grizzlies’ biggest concern is whether or not their
big men will be rested enough for Game 5 after playing four overtime quarters in
their past two games. Get all your NBA betting
