Two clubs headed in opposite directions will collide on the NBA betting board on Monday when the struggling New York Knicks host the soaring Orlando Magic.

Orlando (47-26, 30-4-2 ATS) has ripped off five consecutive wins. The Magic took care of business against the Nets on Friday, winning 95-85. While they’ve been sharp on the court, they’ve let NBA bettors down—the club has covered just twice in its past 11 games.

Considering the recent rash of injuries in the backcourt, that trend may not change any time soon. Quentin Richardson sat out Friday’s victory because of back spasms. He should return Monday, but the team might still be without fellow guard Jameer Nelson, who missed the second half against New Jersey because of a sprained knee. Throw in J.J. Reddick, who’s missed eight straight games with a strained stomach muscle, and Orlando is a little beat up right now.

With Dwight Howard dominating, though, it hasn’t really mattered. Howard recorded his league-best 60th double-double against New Jersey, recording 21 points and 14 rebounds. Howard has been an absolute beast on the glass over the past few weeks; he’s averaging 16 rebounds per game in March.

New York (35-38, 40-3-2 ATS) is in the midst of a complete meltdown. The Knicks have just one victory in their past 10 games. New York lost 114-106 to Charlotte on Saturday, extending the team’s losing streak to six games. The club is also just 1-9 in its past 10 games against the spread.

While Orlando is getting fantastic play from its big man, New York is watching Amar'e Stoudemire crawl his way through the stretch run. Stoudemire looks like he’s got nothing left in the tank after carrying the Knicks throughout most of the year; he’s scored 16 or less points in three of his last four games, including a brutal 14-point, 4-for-13 night against Charlotte.
