The NBA’s regular season comes to an end on Wednesday night and unfortunately
nearly all of the games are pretty much meaningless. However, there is one that
has meaning for both teams: New Orleans at Dallas. The Mavericks are 11-point
favorites on Bodog’s NBA odds. The Mavericks still have a shot at the No. 2 seed in the West with a victory here and a loss by the Los Angeles Lakers at Sacramento. However, Dallas also could slip as low as No. 4 (and would face Denver, locked in at No. 5, in the postseason) with a loss and an Oklahoma City Thunder home win over the Milwaukee Bucks. The Mavs will get the No. 3 seed (and a date with Portland) with a win and a Lakers win, or a loss to the Hornets and a Thunder loss. Don’t rule out a loss tonight
for the Mavs as they have lost nine consecutive games against fellow Western playoff teams since beating the Lakers on Jan. 19. New Orleans, meanwhile, will finish either seventh or eighth. The Hornets are
tied with Memphis, but New Orleans holds the tiebreaker for the No. 7 spot. The
Grizzlies play at the Clippers tonight. The Hornets lead the series with the Mavericks 2-1 this season. All three of
the games have been decided by three points or fewer. The teams haven’t played
since March 9, a game in which Dallas led by seven with a minute to go but still
managed to lose. And the Hornets played without All-Star point guard
Chris Paul in that one. But New Orleans also had David
West, who is now out for the season. Dirk Nowitzki is
averaging nearly 27 points per game this season against New Orleans. Get the best NBA props at Bodog!
