Kevin Durant poured in 40 points in Game 1 of the Western
Conference Finals for the Thunder on Tuesday night, but he was upstaged
by Dirk Nowitzki in that NBA betting
matchup. Nowitzki was lights-out for the Mavericks in Game 1, missing just three of his 15 shots from the field (and none of his free throws) en route to 48 points and a 121-112 Dallas victory. The rest of the Mavericks' starters? They combined for just 20 points, but
the team got meaningful contributions off the bench from both J.J.
Barea (21 points) and Jason Terry (24 points) as they
took a 1-0 series lead. Durant made 10 of his 18 field-goal attempts on Tuesday and also grabbed
eight rebounds, while running mate Russell Westbrook scored 20
points but was limited to just three assists. Tuesday's win provided a payout once again for Mavericks supporters; Dallas
had been listed as the 6-point favorite and managed to cover that spread. In the
playoffs the Mavs are now 10-0-1 against the spread, with that lone PUSH coming
in a 97-92 loss to the Trail Blazers as a 5-point underdog in the first
round. The Thunder haven't been as lucrative at the payout window, going just 6-6-1
ATS so far in the postseason. For Thursday, the Mavericks are set on the Bodog NBA odds
board as 5.5-point favorites, with the total for the contest at 199
points. Tipoff for Thursday's Game 2 in Dallas is set for 9:00 p.m. ET. The teams
will then head up to Oklahoma City for Game 3 (Saturday) and Game 4 (Monday)
before returning to Dallas for Game 5 next Wednesday – barring a Mavericks
sweep. Get all your NBA odds at
