NBA betting
returns to the mix on Tuesday night as the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City
Thunder kick off the Western Conference Finals at American Airlines Center. The Mavericks are priced as 6-point favorites for Game 1, but does it matter how much they cost right now? Bet on the NBA now. Dallas made quick work of the Lakers in the second round – the three-time
defending West champions, no less – and it has been sizzling at the window
dating back to the regular season. Yes, Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavs covered easily in every game
against the Lakers, but they’ve been rolling for much longer. Dallas is 13-0-1
ATS in its last 14 games (12-2 SU), and hasn’t lost ATS in over five weeks. The Mavericks are providing serious value on the futures board, too. Dallas
just shredded Los Angeles, but it’s a +250 underdog to win the NBA title,
putting it behind Miami (+190) and Chicago (+200). Oklahoma City is an intriguing +550 pup to go all the way, and is listed at
+180 to win the West. The Mavs are -220 chalk to get back to the Finals for the
first time since choking the title away in 2006. These aren’t your older brother’s Mavericks. Dirk is still doing his thing,
but veterans like Jason Kidd, Jason Terry and
Shawn Marion aren’t afraid of the big moment. Tyson
Chandler gives Dallas the inside presence it’s never had with all
apologies to Erick Dampier, who couldn’t even beat out
Joel Anthony or Zydrunas Ilgauskas for a starting job
in Miami this season. The Thunder could still be a year away, but in this year’s playoffs, anything
is possible. The Mavs are well rested, but Kevin Durant and
friends could use that rust against them in Game 1. The total is set at 193. Get all your NBA odds at
