In the first round, NBA betting fans thought they might be witnessing a changing of the guard, as the Oklahoma City Thunder looked like they might be ready to be a championship team. Things have changed quickly, though, as the Thunder are down 2-1 to the Memphis Grizzlies. Game 4 tips off Monday.

The Grizzlies continue to be an absolute terror for basketball bettors. Memphis is 7-1-1 against the spread during the postseason, including a 101-93 overtime win against Oklahoma City on Saturday. It was even more impressive considering Memphis trailed by as much as 16 points.

The gritty Grizzlies got clutch contributions across the board, but nobody was as impressive as Zach Randolph. The big man absolutely murdered the Thunder, finishing with 21 points and 21 rebounds. Randolph is averaging 22.1 points and 10.6 boards per game during the postseason.

Great defense has also been a major factor in Memphis’ surprising run. The Grizzlies held Oklahoma City to just 36.6 percent from the field on Saturday. Tony Allen and O.J. Mayo were especially great late in the game against Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. Mayo had 18 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Both of Oklahoma City's stars struggled in Game 5. Durant and Westbrook combined for 45 points, but they went 17-for-46 in the process. Westbrook added 12 assists, but he also had seven turnovers. Durant went 2-for-10 in the fourth quarter and overtime, and he had just a single free-throw attempt after averaging 11 per outing during his first seven playoff games this year.

Unfortunately, nobody besides Durant and Westbrook has really stepped up, forcing the duo to keep taking—and missing—a ton of shots. James Harden, who averaged nearly 16 points per game after the All-Star break, continues to be terribly inconsistent. He’s scored 12 or less points in six of his eight playoff games.
