Off a win over then-ranked Ohio State team that helped to take some of the sting off all of the NCAA allegations surrounding the program, the Miami Hurricanes host a 2-0 Kansas State team on Saturday that has yet to play anyone of substance. UM opened as a 14-point favorite on Bodog’s NCAA football odds.

KSU’s schedule has been cupcake city so far. The Wildcats were fortunate to squeak by FCS team Eastern Kentucky in their opener and then beat MAC pushover Kent State 37-0 last week. KSU is led by dual-threat quarterback Collin Klein. He's run for 217 yards while completing 22 of 39 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Klein was recruited as a wide receiver before becoming the full-time quarterback last year. Kansas State ranks first nationally in total defense (164.0-yard average) and scoring defense (3.5-point average). But consider the schedule.

Kansas State also brings two names that should be familiar to Miami fans in Arthur and Bryce Brown. Both were among the nation’s top recruits a few seasons ago. Arthur, a linebacker, did come to Miami but didn’t make an impact before transferring. Bryce, a running back, was arguably the nation’s top recruit and verballed to Miami before changing his mind and heading to Tennessee. Then he also transferred – the brothers are from Kansas. Both were alleged to have accepted benefits from Nevin Shapiro. Kansas State last month declared that the NCAA has "no concerns" concerning eligibility for the brothers.

Miami (1-1) was defensively dominant in beating the Buckeyes last week, 24-6. The Hurricanes held OSU to only 35 yards passing and four completions. UM running back Lamar Miller rushed for 184 yards and is No. 2 in the nation in rushing yards per game. QB Jacory Harris returned from suspension but was his typical inconsistent self with two TD passes but also two picks.
