Two AL East rivals collide when the Toronto Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Rays kick off a three-game series on Tuesday. The Rays are looking for revenge after losing two out of three games on the MLB betting board to the Jays earlier this season.

Tampa Bay (15-13) has rebounded nicely from an 0-6 start, though the Rays are coming off a series loss to the Angels. The Rays are expected to send Wade Davis, Jeremy Hellickson and Jeff Niemann to the hill against Toronto.

Davis (3-2, 2.73 ERA) has been the best of the bunch. The youngster has led Tampa Bay to three consecutive wins, and he’s held his past four opponents to two runs or less (6.2 innings, two runs allowed in his last start).

Hellickson (2-2, 4.31 ERA) and Niemann (1-3, 5.60 ERA) have had some shaky moments. Since striking out 10 betters in his season debut, Hellickson has just 13 strikeouts in his past four starts. He has given the Rays a shot to win in every start this season, though, including a 6.1 inning, three-run effort last week.

Toronto (13-15) will counter with Jo-Jo Reyes, Brandon Morrow and Ricky Romero. Reyes (0-2, 5.48 ERA) is unquestionably the weak link. Morrow (0-1, 3.97 ERA) looked good in his second start of the season last week (six innings, two runs, six strikeouts) while Romero (2-3, 3.00 ERA) has pitched well in five of his six starts this season, but has been let down by poor run support.

Pitching dominated the first series between the clubs, as both struggled to hit. Tampa Bay managed just 12 runs and hit .196 in the series. Johnny Damon and Sam Fuld were the only two players to hit higher than .250 during the three-game stretch, as The Legend of Sam Fuld continues.

On Toronto’s side, the lineup produced just 10 runs and a .216 batting average. Jose Bautista was an absolute killer, though, hitting .750 with three home runs, five walks and a mind-boggling .846 on-base percentage.
