The New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays will kick off a three-game series on the MLB betting board this Friday. The American League East rivals already split a two-game series earlier this season.

New York is expected to send Freddy Garcia and A.J. Burnett to the mound. Putting Garcia (1-0, 0.69 ERA) in the rotation looks like a brilliant idea by the Yankees. The veteran righty has started two games for the Yanks this year, pitching six-inning shutouts both times. He was especially sharp in his last outing, striking out seven batters in a 6-3 New York victory.

Burnett (3-1, 3.52 ERA) is off to a nice start after a crummy 2010 campaign. The hard-throwing southpaw has been let down in his past two starts, however. Burnett has surrendered just three earned runs in his past two games—including an eight-inning, one-run performance last week—but the Yanks lost both times.

Toronto will counter with two young, talented up-and-comers in Ricky Romero and Kyle Drabek. Romero (1-3, 3.00 ERA) has held his opponents to two runs or less in four of his five starts this season, but doesn’t have much to show for it. Romero gave up two runs while striking out 10 batters over seven innings last week, but lost 2-0 to the Rays.

Drabek (2-0, 3.30 ERA), the centerpiece of the Roy Halladay trade, is off to a brilliant start. The Jays have won all five of his outings. Drabek gave up three earned runs in six innings of work in his last start. Some even have Drabek pegged as a future ace of the club.

New York’s Ivan Nova (1-2, 5.82 ERA) and Toronto’s Jesse Litsch (2-1, 3.86 ERA) will close out the series on Sunday.

The Yankees cranked out 17 hits and 11 runs in two games against the Jays earlier this season. Curtis Granderson led the way with a .444 average and a pair of homers. Toronto banged out 20 hits and eight runs in the series. Edwin Encarnacion went 4-for-8 with a .556 on-base percentage.
